I love these threads and how they mirror public education in general.

How do you pronounce B'Tan? Bee-tan? A Z'tan is a Zee-tan?

I never knew the letter C had a phonetic ability to sound like the name of the very same letter. Amazing.

I am going to go to the store and buy some seeheese ceeustard after I take my seeat for a walk in the fields where seeows seehew their seeud.

on topic: Its pronounced with a sharp K sound (K-uh) a short break (denoted by the apostrophe) and then its time to say tan.

i.e., correctly

with the exception of "tea" in tyranids--should be tear-ah-nids (emphasis on first)

otherwise, you sound like a Kiwi

Naw, it's definitely Teer-ah-nids, or perhaps Tire-ah-nids on account of being from Tyran.

Also, it's laz not lays.

C'Tan is pronounced Kay-oss-gaud-rip-auff.

The "T" in Tzeentch isn't necessarily silent, but it's usually not worth trying to pronounce.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

I lol'd, hard!

I pronounce it wrong on purpose. I pronounce a lot of things wrong on purpose. Like swaamp, baig, maing, skreet. It makes talking loads more fun!

Once upon a time, I told myself it's better to be smart than lucky. Every day, the world proves me wrong a little more.

Yes, that's right--"teer-ah-nids." (I was thinking "tear" as in what DA shed for being so lame, rather than "tear" as in "tearing the Lion a new one")

Also, mispronouncing (or rather misspelling) things on purpose . . . that is the very foundation of interwebz culture!

I take it you already know
of tough, and bough and cough and dough?
Others may stumble, but not you
on hiccough, through, slough and though.
Well done! And now you wish, perhaps
To learn of less familiar traps?
Beware of heard, a dreadful word
That looks like beard and sounds like bird.
And dead; it's said like bed, not bead!
For goodness sake, don't call it deed!

Watch out for meat and great and threat,
(They rhyme with suite and straight and debt)
A moth is not a moth in mother,
Nor both in bother, broth in brother.
And here is not a match for there,
Nor dear and fear for bear and pear,
And then there's dose and rose and lose –
Just look them up – and goose and choose,
And cork and work and card and ward
And font and front and word and sword.

And do and go, then thwart and cart.
Come, come, I've hardly made a start.
A dreadful language: Why, man alive,
I'd learned to talk when I was five.
And yet to write it, the more I tried,
I hadn't learned it at fifty-five.

In other words- don't try and teach us your opinion because it could be ANYTHING
