**New images as of Dec 29** I'll make sure to update this primary post also with the images instead of having people scroll past all other replies..

Hi! Here's my progress I've been through on my conversions and mods of my army. I just began with 40k in June, but I have some very talented people around me that know their stuff. I painted my first ever mini about 4 months ago. I've only worked with greenstuff once before on a octopus head/cthulhu thing, so I'm still very much learning. I would love to hear what you all think good and bad. I'll be updating this post every couple of days with my progress. I have about 40(ish) models to paint and many of them have not been converted to being Nurgle enough for me.

The following is my Epidemius mod and painting still a work in progress.

Prime

Paint
I attached him to a 1oz cosmetics jar for easy holding while I paint, it has helped a bit.

Once he's painted up all yucky like I'll be adding a nice shinny coat over the tentacles.

My terminator mods:
I am currently painting this guy up, I am hoping he turns out well

This is one of the first mods I did to a figure, again, he's on the painting table.

Enjoy! I'll make an update in the next couple of days of how I'm doing on these guys.

**Dec 29 Images**
Just a couple of shots of my normal troops. No bases finished and no clear coat on it.

Great GS work on the Epidemius conversion. Haven't seen tentacles (or worms) that good for a long time.

Have you considered using like a texture tool on the nurgle skin stuff? You could use a small sponge or something, but I think the better ones have been made by the hobbyist.

Yup, the tentacles look pretty REAL (OMG!!!)

Nice job indeed, I also really like the Terminator right leg... Is it supposed to be eyes sprouting out of his leg, or bubonic, festered bubbles??

Thanks! I have a good Greenstuff teacher who actually a mini scupltor and does it for a living.

Pustules and nasty bits breaking out of the armor

Thanks! They're the first ones I've done ever. They are pretty much a mixture of tentacle and worm little things, it gives them a nice bit of texture for painting.

I've been looking a few different styles for painting, I'm still getting the basics done and how paint works on a mini instead of boards.

Some more outside shots of Epidemius, I added some better puke running down his front and worked on the upper part of the chair. I think I'm getting close to finishing him.

Hi

Love the sculpt on Epidemius and the termi.

Only one issue for me right now is that it is difficult to pick out detail with the festering paint job - you've done a great job of making things look yuck and nurgly, but overall it acts like a camoflague pattern so that you cannot see all of the parts clearly.

Is that you in your avatar by the way DragQueenMarine?

Thanks!

Yes, that is part of the issue I'm having with him. I had some of it different but it just didn't match up well. I am planning on doing different finishes on them, which may pull the tentacles out and make it so you could see the nurglings under neath.

It is also another painting issue I'm seeing with myself is that I'm making everything blend together so that the details even on my normal troops are not seen. I'll learn more and I'll likely get better soon.

Hi

As an idea for pulling the different parts out, you could try putting a wash over the similar areas - eg. put a purple wash over the tentacles. They are already highlighted etc, but this would differentiate them from the rest of the model.

A yellow and/or green wash could make Epi stand out a bit more too.

Thanks I think that will likely be something I'll do with him.. I do need him to stand out, though taking pictures out in the sun makes it so he look totally washed out. He needs to Pop a bit really.

One question, what are the rules if any for the blight drones? I like the model, looks like steampunk but Nurglified but they seem a bit meh as if FW just made them to look cool. Nothing wrong with that but shouldn't they have some sort of rules somewhere?

Also, very nice green stuffing! One thing I would recommend is to try and make Epidemius look brighter greens. Highlight up the edges of his throne and the raised areas of his throne. Do the same with the base but don't highlight as brightly. This should make Epidermius stand out a bit and look radioactive ^_^

I bought it for the looks, I haven't seen anything about rules for it yet... hmmm steampunk blight drone... have steam coming out of the end instead of gunk..

Thanks!

I think some nice washes on Epidemius will help. Then some highlights along with the washes.

Very nice! I like the pustly stuff round his neck, very nurgle! Time to get the ground troops assembled? Try converting normal plastic chaos marines to Nurgle with green stuff. It'll take more work but they will be plastic and not fall apart or be too heavy.

How are the dreadnought and drones coming along?

It's been requested that I not touch my dreadnought and drone until the guy teaching me how to sculpt gets a look at them. So It'll likely be a month before I actually do anything with them (since the teacher is 180 miles away).

Yes, I've got a good number of guys that I'm working on that are just plastic models and adding a lot of lovely pustules, grit, grime, and other nasty stuff
