Just wanted to start a post to see what mix of armies are going to the finals. I played at Dicehead in Cleveland, TN.
1. Dark Eldar (me yay!)
2. Khornate CSM
3. Quad Land Raider Grey Knights
Results so far:
CSM : 10
Marines : 7
Orks : 6
Eldar : 4
Daemon: 4
D. Eldar: 3
Guard : 3
B.Angels : 1
DH : 1

Their Drybrushed asses left early and dropped out after round 2.
LOLZ! (just had to get oooone more dig in, Clay)
No, I beat Shawn. It would have been a Massacre but we missed the "Random Game Length" for the last mission and I hadn't made my last turn push towards the center. Just before I started my 6th turn they told us...and I rolled a 2!!!
Yeah, Kev backed into 1st....dammit....
Yes, I'm a bitter, bitter man...lol

I dont understand how dual lash is still doing well.
Why would you come to a tournament and be susceptable to one of the most common builds.

'Cause a fair number of armies have zero access to psychic defense? So long as you aren't matched up against Eldar or a Hood-toting Imperial army, dual-lash remains effective.
I miss 2e psychic rules - at least everybody had *something.*

At 2500pts chaos has enough points for plenty of anti-tank fire to pop transports, then lash the troops around. You also have enough points for Land Raiders to block LOS to the Lash Princes (or Lash sorcerers on bike). Even a marine psychic hood only has a 24"range to the target casting the Lash. Other hoods have a farther range, however those hoods tend to be on weaker models who can be killed and even when alive the Hood only offers a 42% chance to cancel the Lash. Besides the 2nd round game was 6 turns of nightfight so there was plenty of opportunity for chaos to get into the enemy lines.

I know second place in Battleforge was Black Legion CSM, he missed first place by 2 points because for 3 turns, 30 CSM couldn't kill 4 space marines on the central objective - other than that, his opponent was tabled.
It saddens me that dual lash ran so well. I followed a friend's advice and brought a wave serpent/warwalker spam army instead of my usual Emperor's Children, and flubbed the whole thing big time. I'd have done so well against the armies I'd faced with my standard army!
That said, I'm not sure what the standings were at Lone Star Comics in Arlington.

Yeah...That was brutal. Sorry about that. It was a bad match up for you. Obviously, if you had beaten me you would have gotten first. A bad draw. Same thing happened to me the last 2 Ard Boys. Bad draw in both first rounds. I did not want to be the one to knock you out. Wish your were heading to Chicago with us. Next year for sure!

Lol, that was a beating, I dunno if I couldve actually won though, I think I could have gotten in the top 3, I was glad to get outta there 1-1-1 honestly, there was alot of really good armies at our tourney. And theres always next year.....or the year after that....orr....someday...lol
