Hi
After the summer I thought it would be nice to start up another project.
The last project turned out pretty nice, and was ny first real attempt in scuplting major parts and some heavy conversions:
If anyone remember this one....:

I have stolen the main idea from a Defiler I saw on CmoN, by using the standard Defiler kit plus the WfB Giant.

My plan is to magnetize all weapon choises and try and challange my skills even more this time.

Since the arms that comes with the Giant are too thin I am thinking of sculpting my own arms, or perhaps order the Soul grinder arms on eBay.... thoughts?

Well anyways here is the first picture.... not much to brag about. Just the mainhull and legs pushed into place (not glued) and the Giant body assembled.

/Martin

Cool, nice and nurgly.
Thats the Soul Grinder kit right? Is the left arm purely mechanical in the kit?

Yes it's an SG & the arm is standard.
The rest is GS, guitar string and a plastic tube from a check-out till receipt roll.
To corrode the metal i smeared plastic glue on a section then pressed my finger against the still-wet glue and basically tapped again and again until the plastic started to break down.
It smells and may not be healthy. Use with caution!

A small update...

The cannon hole is done and I have melted the blast shield in order to make it follow the body. My plan is to integrate the shield into the body in order to make it look like a mouth in the stomage. Some putty is needed to restore it... The plastic looses some of its details and hardens quite much when you soften it with heat, you have to be quick...

Looks sweet dude. Going to be epic.

May i ask where you got the wings from for the Demon Prince, or did you make them?

They are pretty much what I'm looking for for my Demon I'm going to be doing.

If you don't want to that's cool and I'll understand.

Great work again

I wouldnt use wings honestly would throw off the model I would say. Great heading but if your going nurglesk then why not gs over the belly where the cannon will come out and have soares and boils around the rusted gun instead of the park you have now. You could still keep the face part on the stomach just junk it up a bit.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

The question about the wings was for my old DP project, no wings for the defiler.

The project is just started, I have started model the arms. I have tons of hours before this project is completet. The defiler will have the same amountof conversion as my DP has. I am guessing that 95% of the model will be redone before I am finished.
I have started with the anatomy, after that where will be 4-5 layers of wound and skin detail, before finishing it of with nurgle details like blisters and so on.

Thanks for the feedback, it feels always good to have some support and feedback suggesting that I am going in the right direction.
Spending this many hour in a project sometimes feels frustration when the progress is slow. But I have realized that sculpting must be slow in order to let the putty cure between the layers. I have ruined details many times when I have tried to put on multiple layers at once...

Well... some skin layers on the back and right arm...
Maybe I am a litte over-enthusiastic on this one, maybe less is more... or is not that valid when dealing with Nurgle??? : )
Sorry about the bright pictures on this update, I had to use support light on these pics.

OH yea I forgot, on something that large, guitar string looks a little small for a spine, you could try and use the copper cirlces the string is wound on. Cut them in half, and turn them sideways in that open sore. It might look better. Just a thought
