The only people i've told about this are my mom and my grandma, but I decided I need to come out and be public about it, regardless of the consequences, I'm tired of living a lie. The internet is a good jumping off point I guess, since it's rather anonymous.

I'm transgendered. It has tortured for years. It's made me consider suicide (and I still do occasionally). and I don't know what I'm going to do with my future. It's just so horrible sometimes.

This is REALLY not the place to bring up this sort of thing. There are certainly places availiable to you locally where you can get help, not least of which the support you can recieve from your family. Better that than attempting to get help on a gaming forum.

People online are doubtful going to be understanding and knowledgeable about your "predicament".

Revelator, all I can do is offer sympathy, and wish you the best of luck. It must be a very difficult issue to come to term with.

I think it is a good thing to bring this up on the internet. Just talking about the issue can be difficult, and I expect the anonymity of the internet can make much easier. Just try and take the comments with a grain of salt, most us will be well intentioned but without having experienced the issue ourselves there's every chance we'll say something stupid. And there'll be some people that are jerks, this is the internet after all.

I expect there would be some forums out there for transgendered people, who would have had similar experiences to your own. Maybe you'll find some really constructive advice there?

To be completely blunt:

Why are you "coming out" to people on a gaming forum, or on the internet for that matter? What does what you are matter on here and why do you think it's necessary to tell people? You're going to learn a painful lesson in when it is necessary to divulge certain things about yourself to people and when you might just need to shut the hell up because it's not an appropriate time or place to discuss it.

I'm starting here because I'm fairly comfortable with all you guys, and nobody here knows me in real life. I'm trying to gather the courage to tell my actual, real-life friends. I think it is wrong of you to be so harsh when I'm just trying to make myself a better person and stop living a lie.

Opening your heart about something this personal on a forum about little toy soldiers isn't your best course of action. I would strongly recommend that you find a way to talk with an impartial counsellor as soon as possible, I would also suggest you research some help groups in your area and attend some meetings so you can talk with others in your situation. The anonymous interwebs is no place to open your soul up to.

Seek advice from those trained to do so, not from the babel that is the OT forum.

I am at somewhat of a loss for words... This is not the place to get good advice on this kind of thing, although you have support... just don't invite too many people over mmk .

So transgendered is... crossdressing? Right, or wrong, no need for serious detail .

It is kind of odd that I am not clear on this term, can't honestly say that I have known that many queens. Toss a label and I have probably met and hung out with all of them besides an actual crossdesser.

I don't really know what to say in terms of helping.Yet agree that seeing someone locally who can give advice on such matters is best.However I would like to say good luck to you.

Suicide is the most cowardly and foolish decision that you could make. Should'nt even be an option. If you care about the people actually in your life, you wouldnt do it.

@Revelator: While I agree that forums like this might not be ideal, be assured that I wish you the best for your out-coming among your friends. However, I'm not exactly sure I really know what you mean by "transgendered". Not an expert, like many else here. Gay? Crossdressing? Something completely different?

I have always assumed that transgendered meant being a hermaphrodite,but I guess it could just as easily be cross dressing or some other such thing.Well any way good luck to you Revelator.

I concur with those suggesting local informed advice and support. Dig around the alternate presses in you area for info on groups that you can talk to.

Apart from that. Take you time, but be yourself as much as possible. Pic a really close friend to confide in first and then at least you wont be alone.

Its not the worst that can happen right? there are plenty of people struggling and willing to stay alive .

Never consider suicide for these reasons:

1) Think of all the animals that died , resources used up to sustain you for X number of years just for you to throw it all away.

2) Live for the people that wanted to live but couldnt ( disease , accident , victims of things etc etc )

3) Live for the people that are in worse situation then you , but are fighting very hard despite the hardship .
Talk to some survivors of bad accidents , borrow some courage and wisdom from their experience.
