I have some of both battlefoams foam (lol foams foam) and foam corps foam and here are some differances...

*PRICE* -omg i already pay to darn much just to play the game so foam corps is better
Cuts - battlefoams cuts are cleaner not greatly or in anyway more amazing but they are slightly smoother
Engraving - I really like having my armys name on my foam is awesome battle foam does this foam corps does not
Qualty- honestly not much differance although i did get my battlefoam trays and there was writing on the side of it with sharpie kinda sad about that

now to the big one battlefoams bags i dont want one i think there are good but i dont want one and all they want is for me to shell out 600$ for custom foam and a bag i already have sabol bags and i like them they are in mint condition no need to get rid of them

1. You need to learn punctuation.
2. What are you buying for $600? Three 1520s all customed out?
3. No one is making you buy battlefoam. They just arent letting you buy from someone who is breaking the law.

Kinda simple.

For the record we have no proof that foam corp is breaking the law, in fact the fact that they are still trading is probably a pretty good indicator that they aren't (otherwise you'd think Battlefoam would have killed off foam corp with lawyers by now). We have been asking for comparison for a while and finally we have it, aas far as I can tell from the op's post, BF is higher quality but more expensive, which is pretty much what I expected.

To the op: is there any chance that you could put up a pic of each company's foam next to each other so we can get decent comparison?

One, I dont care for grammer in the least. I can write in english quite well, but I am online and it counts for nothing if I do.
Also I would need two of the 1520 for all the minis I have with custom foam at Battlefoams price of 299 each.
Lastly no one is breaking the law, Battlefoam is trying to strong arm everyone out of the way

Also yes I can post pictures of the two foams they both offer for assault marines, just give me a few minutes to get them.

He owns both and is doing a comparison of the two. Nice to see.

It's quite obvious from your posts however, that your a BF recruit to the foam wars. Try to be a bit civil, and not attack someone for punctuation. And you missed the ' in aren't, by the way.

Responses like this anger me. Watch your grammar on the forums, read the forum rules. It does indeed matter. Unless you don't want to be taken seriously, post using proper grammar.

For the record, I found your original post to be hard to follow. I spend all day working and studying. I don't want to have to decrypt your enigmatic writing to comment on it.

ok pictures

First one up is battlefoams two inch assault marine tray
this only has three rows of NINE (9) slots for a total of 27, kinda bugged me at first cuz my sgts. didnt fit, but it does have the blood angels emblem and engraving

cost was 25$

Next up is Foams corps 1.5 inch assault marine tray
this also has three rows of TEN (10) slots for a total of 30

cost was 12$

Horst-I'm sorry from now on I will try to use better grammer as I'm only here for fun and not to upset anyone

Sales@outriderhobbies.com is where you will send an email telling them what you need

Well, you can see that the BF foam appears thicker between models, and the cuts in the foam cleaner near the bottom. That said, for 3 10-man squads in a tray, for half the price, that's not bad.

And isn't using GW IP (i.e. the Blood Angel logo) on BF's trays an IP violation, especially since they're making money off of it? Hmmm...

Thanks for the comparison pic

This looks like a poor copy to the BF version.

The foam looks less dense and more flimsy which is annoying when you put models over the years and they pull the foam out.

yes, although battlefoams foam doesn't fit right due to them adding an extra 1/2 inch for the writing at the bottom

Looks like the Battlefoam is of much higher quality. However, 9 slot rows vs 10 slot rows aggravate me to no end. I use 10 man tactical squads, 10 man IG squads, 10 man chaos squads, 30 man ork boyz squads. 9 slot rows is the worst idea ever, and one of my main beefs with the GW cases.

Here is something for you...

WHAT IS PATENT PENDING
Often we see the phrase "patent pending" located on a product. This marked reference is indicating that a patent has been applied for, but has not yet been approved or granted by the Patent and Trademark Office. Often the individuals or businesses who prominently display this claim are letting the public know there is an application in pending status and if approved, copiers who construct a similar invention in the meantime would be committing a crime by breaking established patent laws. The pending status does not offer legal protection, but by marking an invention "patent pending", it does offer legal recoup after approval. Failure to mark does not give protection, in order to pursue legal action if someone copies your invention, you are required to have marked it "patent pending" or "patent applied for" with the issued number associated with the application.

Now thats pretty self explanitory to me. But hey man, Brian can still pump them out and you all can buy them from outriderhobbies. Just Brian and anyone associated with his business is going to be in some trouble in the end. Thats not smart business.

Here is another thing; No one is making you buy battlefoam. You dont have to buy a single tray, ever. You can buy the same pick n pluck that you have been buying for forever. Its not changing your gaming at all. As a matter of fact it will still fit into your bags. There isnt any strong arming there at all. Nothing in your gaming life will have changed. What Romeo does offer is a different way to carry your models. You never ever have to buy a single thing from him.

The BF foam dividers are inherently going to be thicker between models, given that there are fewer slots of roughly the same size. At twice the price, and only 90% of the utility, BF appears to be grossly overpriced.

BF is definitely stepping on GW IP. Given that Romeo is familiar with licensing, per his experience with MLB bats, one would assume that he should have known to do so. Plus, GW says:
Games Workshop wrote:WHAT YOU CANNOT DO WITH GAMES WORKSHOP'S INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

If you are using or want to use our intellectual property and you do not have a written license with us, you must not:
- Use Games Workshop's intellectual property in relation to any commercial activity this includes, for example, paying a printer to print some flyers for you, obtaining sponsorship, or selling non-Games Workshop materials using our trademarks.

So, to comply, Romeo would have had to have approached GW (i.e. "Legal@games-workshop.co.uk") for usage rights and license fee, because this is clearly commerical use and GW legal clearly states that you can't do that without a license.

It's 3x10 (taller boxes) instead of 3x9 (shorter boxes) - how can that be a "copy" when it meets a pure functional requirement to provide boxes to put things in?

The foam dividers are thinner, which is what you're reacting to.

How is foam corp going to be in trouble? It looks to me that the design is significantly different. Battlefoam's sample has 3 rows of 9, Foam Corp has 3 of 10.

Battlefoam doesn't have the miniature carrying market cornered. Anybody with laser cutters and enough foam can cut whatever they want and sell it on the market as long as they aren't using BF designs.

Exactly. I don't think you can 'patent' cutting squares into foam. As mentioned over and over, companies have been doing this for a decade.

And if its the "process" of cutting the foam, what would the odds be that the competition would stumble over the super-secret "method"?

So, to comply, Romeo would have had to have approached GW (i.e. "Legal@games-workshop.co.uk") for usage rights and license fee, because this is clearly commerical use and GW legal clearly states that you can't do that without a license.

Here is a thought maybe he did call and talk to GW legal department! You are so well informed it is shocking............

You know, based on your comment, I decided to send an e-mail in to GW Legal, which I then properly forwarded to "infringement@games-workshop.co.uk".

I wonder what GW will say.

He has talked to their legal department many times. He cuts what the customer asks for. I glad to see that you are defending GW with such vigor, most of the time you bash them. It comes down to people thinking they know more than they really do and you fall into the box.

I have seen you post for years now on either Dakka or Pacific Marauders forum and you never bring anything to the table. You talk big on the internet when I know who you are in real life and thats why I always laugh when you post..

Cheers

By they way Angeloftheblood works for Foam Corps... Just sad.

PS Angeloftheblood if it was just cutting foam and eveyone can do it, why was your boss on the phone crying to BF's lawyer saying he was going to shuting down or the fact that he does not pocess a tax id and has not been reporting money made on his biz. I wonder if the IRS would like to here about Foam Corps.

Cheers
