Hello everybody,
Seeing that Call of Duty 6 is coming out in November, I wanted to celebrate by making some terrorist imperial guard. I wanted to make a squad, but who knows I may make a whole themed army. I will be green-stuffing shemags (a full face "turban" designed to keep sand and debris out of their mouths) because they are fighting on a desert planet on which they are stationed. I will also be green stuffing curved clips to make the las gun resemble an AK47.
I may be adding a skirt like robe, to represent the egyptian cotton real life terrorists wear (to keep from overheating due to too much armour).
*fluff*
The 423rd company of the Imperial Guard was stationed on the desert world Oaxaca. There they founded the religion Dahij, a religion that went against many of the ways of humans. They soon were classified as heretics, and were hunted. The 423rd was chased from their homeworld, but many died fighting to protect their families against the PDF forces. The few that survived were determined to destroy the Imperium and rebuild the Imperium through Dahij's laws. To remind them of their cause the 423rd company wears traditional headgear and robes. They are armed with their company specific gun, the K40k (Kalashnikov 40,000) which was designed to replace the autogun. Only small squads engage the Imperium at any given time, because the 423rd lurk in the shadows preaching Dahij to anyone that will listen. Many common people are attracted to the ideas of life after death, and in the year of 40,000 there is much death. Many people have become fanatics, and will kill themselves for their religion. Soon, the 423rd will launch its war against the "Heretics" and claim the Imperium for the Dihaj.

I'm assuming you don't want to just use Tallarn models? Not to say that all Tallarn are terrorists but they're certainly dressed for the part. You probably wouldn't need as much greenstuffing if you do end up going that route.

Yes DogofWar, I did consider tallarn; but I wanted a challenge to greenstuff something, and I wanted to go a little different route. If I'm going to make tanks Ill probably do a jeep with like 2 mounted RPG's and 2 giant storm bolters on the side. Not to be racist or anything. First off heretics would not be hunted by grey knights, nor space marines. They would be hunted by arbites and PDF. They would likely be exterminated with extreme ease. IG forces are not linked with navy forces so it would be impossible for them to turn renegade and leave the Imperium unless the navy was corrupted as well somehow (chaos can do this, renegades can't)
The Imperial religion already believes in life after death, that is being able to sit by the Emperor's side in the afterlife.
The K40k is just dumb. They would never make a whole new gun for an entire force. They would use whatever autoguns they would scavenge. They would not be able to design anything new because A. that knowledge doesn't exist in 40k unless you are a tech priest and even still innovation doesn't happen and B. how would they make weapons to fight an enemy that they have likely never heard of? Where are they going to get SM armor to test on? If they ever went up against SM they would be wiped out with ease.
Overall I rate this idea a 2 out of 10. Basically zero aspects of your fluff are possible in the 40k universe. You get 2 pity points for originality.

I'm sorry I offended you, I just meant that they were terrorist to the Imperium. Men fighting Men in the same Territory/Country(?). They are just imperial guards who have a religion/thought that god doesn't like the way man is turning out. They are terrorist and "heretics", anyway you put it the Imperium hates heretics

These were just my ideas, Im mostly modelling them for COD MW2, and for the experience with GS. Dont IG know what a SM is? I find it hard to believe that. I also was wondering why it is impossible to advance the technology in 40k, and wrap fluff around it? Well thank you for blasting my ideas out of the water.

To each his own.
I do agree that heretics are not traditionally a Space Marine responsibility but rather the SoB's department, so you could definitely make your A40Ks S3 AP3 and they'd be just as nasty as Hotshot Lasguns for the Sisters. There are also billions of worlds in the Imperium so it's not terribly far fetched for a wood-stock type of autogun (hell, the Tanith have wood-stock lasguns for feth's sake!) that's been upgraded with armour piercing rounds or a better propellant. Rogue traders could provide transportation and it's not unbelievable that they could hijack at least some kind of vessel for transportation. Yes it's reasonably far-fetched (as far as 'far-fetched' goes in the world of 40k anyway) but it's not ridiculously impossible. I say you could adjust your back-story just a little and you'll be golden.

The problem is he would have been basing them on modern day terrorists... and when you've had friends killed by them, it isn't exactly pleasant when someone wants to represent them on the tabletop... even if it is from a game. Just my opinion though, they're your models and you can do what you want with them.

Quite welcome, I like how close minded everyone is about this topic, it makes me feel superior.
But please, don't let your models go to waste. Use the on the table, so what if people get offended? If we tried to create a world where no one was offended, we'd create it by destroying everything on it. Because we all know, that even if there only 2 people alive, there's always going to be that one guy who's gonna cry over something.

@dracomere
I think it is a great idea. As far as the guns go... maybe they found a stock pile of some ancient powerful gun? I'm not the biggest fluff expert but isn't one of the great things about 40k is the fact that you can make your own fluff... I can see how people could be offended by the idea (much like the great nazi space marine army I saw once) but they are just little toy soldiers...
Good luck with it BTW!!!!

In a world with Dark Eldar, I wouldn't sweat it too much. (As long as you don't have them flying a Valkyrie into a Hive Spire or something.)
