Having had the offending bint in my Cab this week, I thought I would throw down a challenge to Dakka, about the most messed up Familial situation I have ever encountered!

Once upon a time, when times were pretty hard, I resorted to working in our local overpriced, underequipped, piss riddled Flea Pit Cinema. Whilst ambling through the months, awaiting my paltry pay check and being badly treated by a totally detached management team, I encountered a strange girl.

Strange because not only was she quite violently ugly, not to mention mind numbingly boring, but due to her homelife.

You see, some two years before I first encountered her, she had a boyfriend, with whom she had a Baby. He moved into her Mum's, and all was happy families for all of, oh, 3.2 seconds as far as I can make out.

As with many young, unmarried parents, things soon soured, and he split up with her. Predictably, he'd met and fallen for someone else.

Namely, the girl in questions mother. His son's Grandmother....his would-be Mother In Law had things panned out better.

Rather than move out, he simply switched rooms, and started sleeping in the Mother's bed. A couple of months down the line, things threatened to get incredibly interesting (and twisted) way.....

He made a proposal of marriage to the Grandmother of his first born son.

So Dakka, had the marriage gone ahead (which seemingly it didn't) who would be who, and to whom.

Strictly speaking, the kid becomes it's own Step-Brother, and Uncle. I think. And it all goes down hill from there!

P.S. You might want to have a few drinky-poos before tackling this one. Everyone knows booze lubricates the brain, rendering you an expert on any and all subjects known to man...

There is nothing to figure out, breaching taboos like this means nothing to the scum that infest this nation nowadays. Dating a girl then dating her mother is commonplace, I have heard of it, its slightly more unusual because there was a pregnancy and kid involved, but its merely a natural extension of the same sordid situation.

Is it sad that I can make sense of that without my head hurting?

Too much time hearing about Greek gods, me thinks.

The Grandmother would be Grandmother and Step-mother.

The birth mother would be mother and step-sister.

The father would still just be father, as "step-grandfather" (or any step-grandparent or higher) isn't recognized as an official word in the English or Legal Dictionaries.

I think the Mum becomes Auntie as well.

No...no she doesn't. Erm. Or does she? Auntie is your Parent's siblings...so no, she doesn't become Auntie, but he does become his own Uncle. Possibly.

Pretty sure his Mum becomes his own Half-Sister?

If your significant other makes you watch - you have my sympathies (I get this with Neighbours) but I share in your pain also.

My mother-in-law watches The Young and the Restless (TYATR). Since it went from free-to-air (FTA) to cable, she has been unable to get her fix. My wife offered to have us record it for her and dump it to another media for her to watch. Guess who gets to transfer it to that other media? Me.

They don't have a disc recorder, and our cable box doesn't support direct digital file copy, so it's dub to videocassette. Fun fun fun. 8 hours of this gak will melt your brain.

For that, chromedog, I do pity you. In the era of transformers-level CGI and epic cinema adaptations like LOTR, you get that trash for free. Have you noticed that the characters don't ever really get out of that house? I've seen the series under three names, 5 languages and the same story line ( X feths Y, Y breaks with X and feths with Z, Z suicides so Y feths X again...damn, they like animals!).

And what if he jumps ship again and cheats his wife with his son´s mother? It´s adultery? Incest? If somebody takes this to court the judge will have to make up some law on the fly for this, or roll a die 4+ he is guilty on a 1 we execute the baby .

Incest requires blood relation. It's legal to marry a Step-sibling(at least in America).

Again, there's no such beast as a Step-grandparent, legally or linguistically. But we should all feel sorry for the son, because he has to be raised in an environment where stuff like this is allowed to go on.
