Well the decade is coming up (2000-2009). What were some of your favorite things from the last 10 years? It can be a movie, a person, a thing...really just about anything. It doesn't have to be something significant, just something you liked. We could go nuts listing thousands of things so show a little self restraint and try not to list fifty things. As an example I will just list a few myself.

Portable media players - the amount of music I can now carry around in a lightwieght device is fairly awesome.
Beck - I've enjoyed most of his albums
Wes Anderson - I've really enjoyed his movies. While they weren't all great, I always enjoyed them.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.

As for me,the verdict concerning this decade has yet to come in,but I'm hopeful (me?hopeful?) that it will end better than it begin,at least Bush is gone.

Have you read the e-mails or are you just repeating what someone who may or may not have read the e-mails said? I'm not saying your wrong, there very well may be completely unethical wide spread collaborative corruption, I don't know I haven't read them, but claiming what a group of documents says without actually reading them, or at least the relevant ones in context, is umm...

I'm certain 2010 is the final year of this decade not the first of the next decade. Just as the new millennium didn't actually start until 2001. It is counted the opposite than birthdays, i.e. your twenty-first year you are actually only twenty complete years old, when you turn twenty-one, it begins your twenty-second year. For dates it is the actual and labeled 2009th year but it is not complete until January 1st, 2010, then it is the beginning of the 2010th year.

As much fun as it is to argue over inane and unresolvable details, 2000~2009 is 10 years and a decade. Whether or not you prefer use 01 to 00 or 00 to 09 doesn't really matter that much; either way the point is to look at the last 10 years and think of things you thought were good about it.

Arguing over mundane details on Dakka

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity......

Yep, the 00's end in 2009 - just like the 80's ended in 1989 and the 90's started in 1990.

Good things this decade? Getting back into 40k.

Hopefully I'll get good at it by the end of the NEXT decade.

Doubtful.

Uh, it is not unresolvable it is simply a fact (as far as I know ). But in the spirit of the thread, despite having another year of potential crap, I will endeavor to answer the OP...

Uh, um, hmm. Wow, the first decade. Government, mm, no. Movies, yikes, definitely not. GW? Barely. Forge World? Yeah, Forge World has come up with some nice new Orky stuff lately! Music? Naw, it has been mostly stagnant since the mid 90's. Home Entertainment? HiDef has been nice despite the lack of Hi-Def broadcasting (yet). Personal stuff? God no! City of Heroes? Humpf, barely passable. Champions Online? Naw, what a joke that turned out to be. America? Yikes, I plead the fifth.

So, I've come up with...

Forge World
Hi Def televisions
Lots of old TV Shows and Movies on DVD that were all but forgotten

Gee, that is it for me so far.
