Coming in March, Battle Missions is a brand-new supplement for Warhammer 40,000 that expands on the basic missions found in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. Each of the thirty-something scenarios detailed in Battle Missions has been designed to allow you to fight the sort of battles normally the subject of Black Library novels. From daring raids and assassinations, to breakthroughs and last stands, Battle Missions will allow your army to play in a way that reflects its background. No matter what Warhammer 40,000 army you collect this exciting new supplement will open up a whole new gaming experience.
Of course it just wouldn't be the same if there weren't some great new miniatures to fight through these missions with. Fortunately, there will be new sets for Space Marines, Orks and the Imperial Guard released alongside Battle Missions in March.
What the newsletter said, and there's a picture of some Catachans fighting Tyranids and it looks like a new Bassie. Least I think it's new, the sides of the chasis look similar to the Hellhound behind it, but the gun and shield look exactly like the current kit.
Edit: Here's the picture:

Marines lack a Master of the Forges, that's about the only thing left that they don't have.
Orks still need new Buggies, Trakks and Flashgits.
Guard.. A crapton. New Russ kit, Artillery tank kit, plastic storm troopers, plastic rough riders, Lucas Bastonne, Knight Commander Pask, a new Marbo, Penal Squads, Hydra, Manticore and the Deathstrike.

Hopefully none of them will be Kill Point based.
Does sound interesting though, given we're writing our own campaign supplement (I'd tell you about it, but I'd get C&D'ed).
And new kits? Well, I hope the Orks get something they need. Can't imagine what the Marines don't already have. And looks like there's a Basilisk, but plastic Stormies would be great as then I could combine them with the Land Speeder Storm and make my 'Little Bird' squadron.

Perhaps the mentioned Space Marine models include Space Wolves, they're missing some stuff like the Thunderwolf Caverly aren't they?
Orks still need new Buggies, Trakks and Flashgits.
And maybe a seperate box of those new style Deffkoptas that come in the AOBR set?
Guard.. A crapton. New Russ kit, Artillery tank kit, plastic storm troopers, plastic rough riders, Lucas Bastonne, Knight Commander Pask, a new Marbo, Penal Squads, Hydra, Manticore and the Deathstrike.
Add an updated Chimera and some plastic Ogryns and I think that would be most of em.

I sincerely doubt new Ogryn (which aren't that old) and a new Chimera, which did receive new Codex art, but no new hull design like the other tanks.

Yeah, I got the newsletter today.
Its confirmed what has been said above, new book and miniatures for SM, Orks, and IG.
This basically means that BA are postponed.
But this is what Brimstone already mentioned, not March, could be August 2010.

Colour me intrigued. A more generic mission book sounds like a better idea than something specific i.e. Planetstrike. A return of small kill team esque missions perhaps?
If this is done right, it would have a great modelling section with terrain ideas for each mission. However, if something like this does put in an appearance all terrain will doubtless be made out of GW plastic kits and battle scenes will take place on you know what!

New missions that can become standard missions in tournaments are very welcome.
In the recent German GT, we played these bland missions from the rule book.

I like this idea. It can't come out soon enough. New missions are a good, logical direction to take the game.
I hope that's not the new Basilisk, because if it is, they've not changed the Basilisk parts at all, just the Chimera chassis hull sides. I find this to be a bit unlikely, though.

It'll be interesting to see when BA get changed to because of this (unless the 'new Marine kits' are BA- yeah, right ). Of course, this opens the slight possibility of BA being moved to Autumn 2010, and possibly a dual release or even combined Codex (Angels of Death). I highly doubt it, but it does leave me wondering when BA will release now.
Still, more missions is always a great idea, even if I do play Apoc most of the time now.

This looks like the book I was talking about with JJ at Conflict Scotland Last year.
The basic plan was to have 3 themed missions for each race (JJ mentioned 10 races, looks like they've added more)
Missions will be tailored for the racial background of the force. Last stands, beach heads, Hold the line, Slave raid, that sort of thing.
Mission generation works from a D6, 1,2,3, player 1. 4,5,6, player 2.
Each time you play you have 6 different missions.
All objective based with differing victory conditions.
