Hmm, seems as if certain states are getting more privileges for voting in the HCR Bill (Nebraska one of them). I've seen on other sites too that other state Senators were promised special treatments if they voted for the HCR Bill.
Of course the Dems say that the bill will succeed. Most of them are for it. It's not as if they will admit that it won't work this late into the game.
Increased Medicaid to the Senator in Nebraska in exchange for vote #60.
Ah, I love Obamanation.

Nope, just jump on the chance to prove that Obama is not the Messiah and that Liberals are not always right no matter how much they think they are.
Nebraska Senator admits his state would get special treatment if he sided with the HCR bill and oddly enough his vote was what helped it pass.
Hmm. I don't think that's coincidence.

Par the course in the game of politics. Doesn't matter if you're red or blue, you're generally going to look out for your voters interests.
Obama just might be the Messiah to all those unfortunate enough to not be able to afford insurance or those that were denied by death panels aka insurance companies. Great to see progress happening on the health care reform front.

Um, how? It isn't hypocritical to treat two states differently if you never say that you're going to treat them all the same. In fact, it would be stupid to presume that each state needs the same amount of money in order to provide identical levels of care.

Gotten worse? The economy is doing considerably better than it was a year ago, even if unemployment is still 10-12%.
Incidentally, its amusing that you seem to consider being open to the possibility that liberal policy can have a positive affect equivalent to desperate faith.
As far as your supposed 'crusade' you did just seemingly fabricate a charge of hypocrisy. Though its also quite possible that you simply don't know what the word means.

Maybe a depression like in the early 1900's but I wouldnt' exactly say it's been all that great of a time either. Obama hasn't pulled us out of the water yet. Millions still unemployed and soon to run out of Federal extensions with no job in sight among other things that aren't exactly all that good for the country UNLESS you look at them through rose colored glasses (I think you left yours on the tv Vlad).
Control I mean the liberal mind to try to twist and change and go against the Constitution and the Amendments in it. 1st and 2nd are in danger (1st might as well not exist as free speech does not exist anymore, at least not in the way it was intended when protected 100's of years ago) and 2nd Amendment is attacked by any liberal, wether senator or judge or mayor or President. You may not see those as control but I do and trying to take away my rights is trying to control me.

Fateweaver wrote:

Why? There's nothing wrong with being a socialist, just as there's nothing wrong with being a conservative. You're being attacked because you don't post in a manner which leads to constructive debate. Instead, you opine on supposed fanaticism of the left, while putting yourself up as a ridiculous caricature of an ignorant, right-wing, hack. Though I suppose the fact that you've mentioned in the past that you have no interest in developing an informed opinion should tell me that I'm wasting my time.

You've already stated that you know nothing about economics, and yet you continue to discuss them. One would think that you'd eventually decide to either learn something, or stop bothering with it altogether.

So promising a Senator his state will see government providing better Medicaid than other states if he votes for the bill, his just so happening to be #60 that was needed to pass it, okay in peoples eyes?
That's bribery. That's like offering a cop $20 to not arrest you for a DUI.

Fateweaver wrote:So promising a Senator his state will see government providing better Medicaid than other states if he votes for the bill, his just so happening to be #60 that was needed to pass it, okay in peoples eyes?
First of all, no one said anything about better Medicaid. The federal government has promised to pay for expanded services in Nebraska, but that doesn't tell us anything beyond that the services in Nebraska will be improved on the federal tab. There is nothing to indicate that they will receive better care than other states, as its quite possible that they currently receive care which of lower than average quality.
Fateweaver wrote:

Immoral as hell.
Every Senator is supposed to represent the interests of his constituency, and that most definitely involves securing better services on their behalf. Its nothing like your example because in this instance the Senator is doing exactly what he's supposed to do, while the cop would be acting directly against his responsibilities.

Thanks MGS. My day was rather boring up until now.
i think everyone is wondering this because instead of questioning the state of the US political system, you question the leadership of Obama, this is old news, politicians (including senators) have been in the pocket of people with the most money, thats why US hospitals couldn't buy cheap canadian generic drugs, because US branded ones were upto 20 times as expensive and just the same, and companies are given tax breaks to fire all their US workers and move their plants to mexico. who ever has the most money and the most generous party contributions get the best treatment.

I disagree, being one of the unemployed. I haven't been able to find a job since January. The economy doesn't seem to be doing better at all, despite what the pundits, PR guys and newspapers keep telling me. As a matter of fact, it doesn't appear that employers agree with your assessment either dogma. Unemployment isn't the only measure of a healthy economy. By every reliable economic measurement (GDP growth, stock indexes, etc.) the economy has improved. Jobs may come back in the future depending on the extent to which the people that were laid off can be classified as redundant, but unemployment is always a lagging indicator and anecdotes don't trump statistical evidence.
