We all love beautifully sculpted models in warhammer , probably more so than how good they are in game.
With that said , which units are just so amazing looking that you are tempted to start that army just to be able to field that unit alone.
And on a related note , which unit are so ugly but important ( maybe its core , or its tactically essential to have it to not lose every game )
that you just avoid getting the army altogether.
For example:
High Elves: Good: Lion Charriots! Awful: Spearmen , Archers
Tomb Kings: Good: Almost everything! Awful: All the basic troops...

In the future, I want to start Eldar simply because of wraithlords (and by extension wraithguard), as well as warp spiders. They are just awesome. Another beautiful model is the Witch Hunters Exorcist, and I think DH GK Termies are pretty nice.
As for the horrible ones, I would have to say my tau battlesuits look bad. I am in a pickle with that, cus I keep hearing they will be redone, and I want to get the ones I need to run a good list when they are resculpted.
Also good are the guys with shields here

Tis a JG sculpt, that's why.
I like the new "super shoulderpad Menoth dudes enough to want to start WM".
As far as 40k I'm really finding it hard to resist rebuilding Eldar. I have some laying around but too many units I want to get.
Trygon/Tervigon and Hive Guard though have me focusing all money and time on Tyranids.
|
--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

For Eldar I am continually tempted to pick up:
1) Five or six Forge World Falcon/ Wave Serpents.
2) 10 more Warlocks (I have something like 15)
3) Maybe six War Walkers.
4) Collect all the Aspects for a second time. Full banshees and maybe three boxes of Scorpions. I was looking at a fifteen Dark Reaper list for tournaments. Doom + anti-MEQ.
Honestly I just have too many other projects that are worth investing time and money in. But someday....
I am not big on Fire Dragons, mostly because of range and because I have Wraithguard anyway. Which can instant kill Carnies (again), which is always a hoot and a hawlah.
As for everything else I either already have it or am going to soon enough! XD
New Tyranids look cool not sure where I am going there, probably not picking anything up for a while.

I am gonna go with the SAME figures, new sculpts. The most recent sculpts on Daemonetts... are TERRIBLE. The previous sculpts (yes the ones with all boobs) are AMAZING figures (an no not cuz of the boobs) they tempted this Ultramarine to Slaanesh i will tell you that much!

I so much would like to start WoC because of the Juggernaut model and the new Tyranids because of Trygon and Skaven because of the New Plague Furnance and the "new" IG because of the new Valkyrie and the Space Wolves because of their new Terminators.
I think that's enough.

The new plastic skeletons and Grave Guard got me to start VC, in spite of the stupidity that is the Knights of Blood Keep- which I refuse to pay for.
I was happy to replace all my old, fugly marauder horsemen with the beautiful new plastics.
I had to buy & paint a new stegadon, but fortunately I sold it before I succumbed to the temptation to start a lizardman army.
The plastic gor/ungor set was so nice, I started a beasts army. But now, the new plastic minotaurs are so full of fail, they make me embarrassed to own a BoC army.

Pretty much. I never seem to have enough Ork bits for my newest conversion.
For WHFB, the chaos mini's always pull me in, because of the level of onversion you can do and get away with it.

WoC: Khorne Juggernaught Lord, Chaos Knights, Marauder Horsemen. So tempted!
Whereas: New BoC- Minotaurs, Bestigors and Razorgor all look way too ugly for me, selling my army.
Lizardmen: Carnasaur! Don't care if it's not competative, need to have it in my army!
Space Marines: TH/SS Termies, always a favourite of mine.
Bretonians- love the men at arms, hate the plastic knights.
Daemons: Love Bloodletters, Plague Bearers and Horrors, hate Soulgrinder, Greater Daemons and everything to do with Slaanesh. Love Bloodcrusher models, would hate to spend the money to own them and transport them.
Dwarves: Love miners and ironbreakers, hate Hammerers and Slayers.
It's actually even more stark with PP's Hordes, where I either outright love and must have something (Earthborn Dire Troll, Mulg the Ancient) or I hate it with the passion of a thousand suns and won't buy it even if it's great in game (Champions, Blitzer).

I love the way Tau vehicles look. Expecially the Skyray. I'm going to do a smallish army with two of those and Markerlights aplenty.
Also, High Elves are probably the only visually appealing WHFB army.
I'd never be caught dead playing Eldar. Hate the way their infantry look, though some of their tanks aren;t so bad.

Eldar its all about their Aspect Warriors, and the Falcon/Wave serpent hull is a thrill to paint and model. When the new Biel-Tan came out (like 3rd ed Biel-Tan) I was all over that like white on rice!! army has since sold and gone....

The Stegadon has tempted me for Lizardmen... I'd still want to start them though I went for WoC because of the gorgeous Warrior models.. I still want a Jugger Lord even though I don't use much Khorne, and it's really expensive (same with Archy).
Strangely, after starting an army I've picked things up which I would never have considered before:
WoC Giant
Treekin (slightly more salvagable than the Treeman, but that had a substitute)
Spawn
Flagellants
