When I was trying to decide what army to start, I almost went with the 'nids, just because the Trygon is freaking awesome.

I still might buy one, now that I can get it from GW rather than FW.

I want to start Eldar simply because all of the aspect warriors are absolutely gorgeous. There's no way my painting could do them justice, though...

This is what made me buy a 1000pt block of Eldar.

To save space on this post for UGLY:

Everything Dark Eldar. I dig the space goth and darkness but the models are so fuggin old. They need new ones badly I dont care if they become space vampires or space goth what ever. Just update them for god sake or squat them. Anything else is torture for the collectors and the models. Poor bastards.

"Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds." ~ HK-47

I started Eldar because of how awesome their models look. Most models look awesome although I have to admit that some really need a rework: Wraithguard have nearly no texture and need some more poses; jetbikes; shining spears.

Then I started Wood Elves because of the spellsinger.
Same with Sisters and her holiness

I agree Dark Eldar look very crap nowadays the sheer amount of stuff that is on my FLGS shelves is pitiful I have often considered doing a Dark Eldar army but have thought to myself....."Why" then its usually "oooooooooh Assault on Black Reach" as I buy my umpteenth set.

My guard and my Marines are my babies at the moment today when I get five minutes will be to assemble my Catachan Stormtroopers. But I need to sort out the caca at work as I kinda walked out the other day in protest....Not that Im proud of that mind you just work got on top of me..

They dont call me Garybrandy for nothing!

With that said , which units are just so amazing looking that you are tempted to start that army just to be able to field that unit alone.

And on a related note , which unit are so ugly but important ( maybe its core , or its tactically essential to have it to not lose every game )
that you just avoid getting the army altogether.

For example:
High Elves: Good: Lion Charriots! Awful: Spearmen , Archers
Tomb Kings: Good: Almost everything! Awful: All the basic troops...

The Dark Elf sorceress.

Bewbs just give you that funny feeling to buy buy buy.
