You shouldn't care, because you're dead.

What do you want to happen to your miniatures? Are they in your will?

Will they end up in the garbage? Craigslist? Ebay? Storage till your partner dies? Melted down? Donated?

Personally, I want to buried be with mine.

What do want to happen to your cherished little buddies when you pass into the great unknown?

Love, Bacon

I'm donating my organs. Seems a bit silly to not donate my toy soldiers.

I'd be upset if they were chucked, though. It's better to find a good home for them.

Give them to the local game store so they can use them as a learning aid for new players.

Well, I like to think I paint my minis at the upper-middle echelon of tabletop quality. I suppose that I'd lie to have them auctioned off to a good home, and have the proceeds go to a charity.

Though I suppose if I ever found an FLGS that I really meshed with, StarGate's idea sounds really nice.

By the time im going to die gw would have probably have changed and may not even make the game anymore.
but if it was suddenly? my mom would probably just keep them the way they are and look back on them with memories.

Have them correct the grammar in your posts. If you would please fix the grammar in your post that would be lovely, OP.

It's not something I've got planned at the moment. I'd have it go to my family or my gaming group if we were tight-knit or my kids weren't into wargaming.

A new day, a new time zone.

I got my huge collection of Epic because the guy owning them passed away, and his sister, who only knew through a casual chain of relationship that I played the same games he did, gave them to me.

LOL... RL Dread ftw.

I just had the morbid thought of getting cremated and being used as basing ballast.

When my best friend died suddenly in his early 30's I was given his minis. We had a wake/party a few weeks after the funeral since the funeral was pretty intense. I talked to all of his friends that I could find and got them to give me a quote or a line or something that they associated with him and went to a local trophy shop and got the different things engraved on little trophy bases and then I glued one of his miniatures to each base and gave them out to the folks at the wake/party so they'd have that to remember him by. Mine has his Commissar Yorrick, who I faced dozens of times during 2nd edition, and says 'Best Friends For Life'.

I've brought his armies out for special occasions/tournaments with friends since then, but it's kind of rough.

I should be painting.

After my kids are taken care of, I want all my friends and relations to go through my stuff and take what they like. I've built a lot of great friendships over the years through gaming, and I hope my friends will take an army or two, play with it, and remember good times. If I'm lucky, by then I will have shared the hobby with my son and grandchildren.

Not sure myself, rather a fair way away unless I'm unlucky. Of course I haven't really thought about it, it's inevitable, but it seems like thinking of it would simply lead to a grim outlook on the world.

Also found something for the Necron players.
You can have your ashes formed into a crystal.
If you paid them enough and gave them the right dimensions I'm sure you would be likely to continue to fight against the living with your Necrons in the form of the crystal on the Monolith. Assuming anyone playing the army doesn't find the fact that the previous owner is now the power crystal as being a curse on the army of course

If my kids dont game, then I will have them melted down and made into a dreadnought that my body will be encased in. An unmoving, ever vigilant sentinal, to watch over the living.......kinda creepin myself out here.

I intend to acrifice my minatures to the great god of plastic to ensure eternal life. Failing that, I'll probably have 1 or 2 buiried with me, and the rest donated.

When I die of old age many will virtually be antiques. I'll probably have figures now that I will still have in 60 years time, and some of them are 20-30 years old. They will be ancient. I imagine that a collectors market will exist and that if my children don't take them they will be sold off. I'm happy enough with that. If I died now, I guess the wife would keep some and get rid of the rest which I'm happy for her to do.

What a strangely morbid thread.

They will remain with me forever, for I can not die.

But seriously, if my kids game, my minis will be passed on to them, but if not, my FLGS should take kindly to being given old minis to display. yes, they are only for display, for my Nids shall wage under my command only!

Well since i dont have any kids to corrupt into this hobby ATM they would go to my buddy who got me sucked into the hobby. The only thing i would want is a really cool looking custom urn with GKs and stuff painted all over it and with the handle being a Grand Master.

Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, its just a freight train coming your way!

Well, it is up to my wife what to do with my minis. I would like some to go to my LFGS owner since he has been such a good friend over the years. The rest passed out between my friends as my wife sees fit.

There is only one I would like to go with me. It is a single imperial guardsman. It is the best model I have every made. Simple and elegant in his posing. It is such an epic model I would love to be dug up by future historians and have them wonder what the social importance of the figure means.

I hadn't considered messing with future archeologists! That's worth being buried with at least one plastic figure...
