Hi Dudes and Dudetts on dakka dakka

Im starting a New chapter of trmpler related goodness
this is because i started buildind a Black Templars Army and my awesomly generously parents gave me £500
to kick start my hobby quest...suffice it to say i was a silly 11yr old, and spent most od it on templar stuff only to find out i didnt really like the way they played
anyway almost 5 yrs on and a whole ultramarines army later i found my passion for all things templar overpowering but still hold a grudge on those over rule constricted black templars so i am starting an army run off the spacemarine codex but using some templars iconography
so that is my tale
Can Anyone put up any ideas of names of....
pivotal battles
key figures
banner ideas
or even a colour scheme variation
I will decide on the actual colour scheme soon and upload it

Sounds like my chapter XD.
There are tons of chapters that are based on the templars.
All space marines are templars from europe.
Dark Angels are based on templars in Great Britian.
Black Templars are based on Crusaders in france.

So you all you need to do is just go to the drawing board and see if you attucally want to make a templar army.

My chapter is based on a idea of Ranks and Systems of different types of cultures (mostly knight orders)

Another chapter thought is the idea of making your chapter have different names and ideals, and basis according to what they are based on.

Another thing to look at is how big you want your chapter to be. I suggest looking at some space marine lore so that you can get an idea of what founding and what time period your chapter came into flution.

I see what you mean about the different templars that is good

I was thinking of somthing along the line of the desert such as Stone templars but i know that has already been taken by somone else

I think i will get the Dark angels box for the hoods and swords

i have just (liteally) painted up some sample models to appaling standard to test le colour scheme and found a good solution
Step 1)basesoat Dehneb Stone
Step 2)Wash with Badab Black
Step 3)Dyrbrush with Dehneb Stone
Step 4)Paint Right Shoulder pad Black
Step 5)Make theeyes blue and gun Boltgun metal (obv)
and that was it the fruits of my labour

Here are the pics i prommised Painted them up in 10 mins flat +drying time with hairdryer

Hmmm intresting the black shoulder guard reminds me of this chapter

except mine is on the right.

Im not going to start painting them just yet but get all of them ready such as the DA bitz and more flock/snow and probably some undercoat wat you fink white or black

I like your colour scheme, nice to see someone else paint Templar’s another colour other than black.

Mine are painted Scaly Green (since been deleted from the GM paint range) and Bone. I've posted one or two photo's if you care to look.

Keep posting I am interested on how you get along.

Great idea. I'm currently deciding on a new chapter also.

I'd definately put a bit of wash or something into those models and some highlights as you see makes a staggering difference if you look at Waaagh Gonads pics, but the colour scheme is nice. Havent seen marines done just that colour before. Tis very lunar actually.

Colour scheme looks pretty good.

Awesome colour scheme, it reminds me of Angels of Absolution: one of my favourite colour schemes in all of 40k

I would suggest you make the capes crimson red to add a bit of more variation. Plus - red makes a lot of things look awesome anyway.

I love the idea of making your own characters. At the moment I'm working on a WIP venerable dreadnought named "Odilon Redon" I might try to make some fair rules for it as an HQ unit.

Black Templars are based on Crusaders in france.

Black Templars are clearly Teutonic knights (german crusaders), they always have names like Siegfried etc in fluff and their color scheme match the Teutonic one
