GW 's models are usually hit or miss , but sometimes due to how well they work in the codex / army book ,
we felt we are obligated to put a paper bag over their head just so we can field the ugly models.

But after awhile , they seem to grow on us , and they arnt that ugly anymore...

For me , its the Dreadnought , a box with legs that doesnt make much since , i have recently thought it looks rather cute.
Rolling down the stairs that is.

I have an army made from Rogue Trader and 2nd ed models, plus a Guard army made mostly from Catachans. I'm a connoisseur of ugly GW models.

I don't mean to sound presumptuous, but I stand a good chance at winning this thread...

Razorgors! Yes, pumbagors.

I have 3 Razorgors and I'm about to get 2-3 more, since pumbacarts (Razorgor chariots) are the bomb, even moreso with a character riding them. Their ugliness has been a boon to me as I've hit two of them with my absolute lackluster sculpting skills and it actually looks like it fits in next to the original stock kit. Half assed sculpted globs of green stuff with chaos spawn bits sticking out work suprisingly well with this model. I'm a fan and I don't care if my opponent laughs or sings Lion King songs when I field them.

I look at them and sometimes feel like those dog owners who adopt fugly or mutant canines and shower them with affection.

Aww lol , how many pose does it have exactly?

Im curious to how you reposition them since you have a bunch in the same army.

The legs can be bent to give them various poses. I am in the process of modeling a barricade that they are barging through or jumping over. One is the stock pose, thats just gonna be barging straight through, another is in a pose that suggests he's about to take off on a jump over the barricade, and another is midair on a flying base, jumping over the barricades Free Willy style. I'll try to post pics at some point. EDIT: Like now!

The next 3 Pumbagors will be attached to chariots somehow, so I'm not sure how i'll pose them to make them look different yet. Edit: Thinking one will have his tail nailed to the base of the chariot, the others will have chains nailed into the shoulders or something.

Disclaimer: I'm a terrible painter, sculptor and photographer, so many many apologies and I'm not responsible for any melted eyeballs. Blame Aly Morrison(I think he was the sculptor). These are also WIP.

Special Cameo by the always Faithful Pipboy, my Chaos Lord on Juggernaut, random Khorne Bezerker, one of my 4 Tuskgor chariots, and my scratch built, relatively easy on the wallet Jabberslythe conversion.

The stock, unmodified Razorturd

Chaos Spawn tentacles, spikes, and a modified pose.

The aforementioned Free Willy Pumbagor.

The whole family

The new damonettes. I really didn't like them at first, but since then I have seen 2-3 people who have done amazing paint jobs on them that have made me think they may not be that bad.

I still have 20 of the 3rd ed. metal damonettes so I'm not getting the new ones any time soon, but at least they don't revolt me when I see the new ones anymore.

One word:

Daemonhost.

I win.

Actually, I have an Inquisitorial army and just about every Inquisitorial model they make, and I think they're great... except the Daemonhost. That's horrible. I still have 'em, but when it came to getting a third I chose this guy.

Fair enough

Though to be honest I've never owned a Daemonhost, too random for my severely basic tactical skills

Those old metal flagellants from 4th/5th ed. (?) WHFB. Their huge bare feet are a pain for the eyes but they still have oodles of character.

Tau Air Caste fleet for BFG.

If they weren't so hideously overpriced as to ensure no one will ever buy them (seriously, I think if they chucked the moulds in the bin no one would ever notice) I'd have a bucket full.

As it is, I've got a sleek, elegant, beautifully sculpted Fire Caste fleet from Forgeworld for less than half the price - It's like I went off with the really fit girl but feel unfulfilled because I was actualy in love with her dowdy cousin...

When I first saw the new Skaven Clanrats in WD a month or two before release, I was kind of underwhelmed. However once I got the sprues and had a proper look, I loved every single model.

The Mawloc is also growing on me, but this might have something to do with a S6 AP2 Large Template attack.

wow! I've had several of these...

old rogue trader marines with chain-axes on their bolters and huge noses (when they don't have their beakies on...

but what topped the list was the first "Cadian Lieutennant" model... remember him? big and fat and slouchingly hauling a shotgun of all things. I actually designed an entire Guard army around him ("2nd Lt. Wyman's Improbables") which was possibly the craziest army I ever made. Wyman= "why man?" as in "why did you even put this army together, man??" for the dense they did fairly well... serious players just facepalmed when they saw my list ("master crafted lasgun??")

I made his shotgun 'master crafter" by painting it golden, and painted spilled food all over his shirt as his "trademark item", then surrounded him with all the other nutjob Guardsmen I thought might fit in, including the guy pointing from the cadian heavy weapons team... who was pointing at the gunner, with the mouth open head like he's yelling... and on the base is written "DUDE! YOU TOTALLY MISSED! HAHA!"

yeah I had fun with that army... another heavy weapon base said "oh sh!t wrong squad!" and the ammo bearer guy was carrying a big backpack and 1 of every type of ammo for every type of IG heavy gun. hee hee.

I had a commissar with a tie too. I painted it bright red with green stripes, like a bad tie you gave your dad for christmas kind of tie.

I never did very well with my guard army, but dang they were funny.

amen... I imagine he inspired a lot of guard players to not take their army so seriously, the way I learned. 'tis why I called him "lieutennant Wyman"... like why would you guys even make this fig? why would anyone use it? but he stood the test of time like a big fat food-smeared champ and occasionally even got to use that master crafted shotgun with pride.

Up in your base, killin' all your doods.

I like the Ironclad, as long as you don't add on all that crap to it. Like the HKM, the frag launchers, etc.

Same with the Venerable, at first I was like WTF? Then, I was like, EPIC!

Still, it seems that GW will never beat the original Dread. Everyone likes it so much more.
