whoohappytime! entries must be like this: My entry: What? Teilon 4 scout marines, sniper rifles - 125 points Why? Awesome firepower, able to lay down a tonne of anti-footsloging firepower. Experiences: Held down a full squad of orkz with just 2 scout marines and a teilon, for 3 turns.

2+ Armor save, 5+ invuln, Deep Strike (No scatter if within 6" of a friendly Icon), Slow and Purposeful, can manifest any SM heavy weapon or TL special weapon, shooting the turn they arrive.
If we were to keep it under 150 pts, and me being a SW player, my nominee would have to be a Long Fangs Pack of 6. One squad leader and 5 Long Fangs with missile launchers gives a nice amount of firepower for only 140 pts! With a special rule for SW, each guy in this pack is able to shoot at different targets as long as the squad leader is alive.

You can only shoot at 2 targets, max.

Why?

Except they cannot - full ork mobs are fearless, so cannot be pinned.
Also, a single anacdote does not corrolate to a useful unit.
I'd have to say:
Vendetta (3x TLLC, Sponson HBolters) - 140
Its a AV12 Fast skimmer with a 10man transport cap, Scout, Searchlight, Stupid amounts of firepower. Whats not to love?

If they get to you they just kill so much in their path....
YEs Solon - they get to replace their Ld with the number of Orks in the mob, capped at 10. Mobs of 11 or more ALSO get Fearless.
Scouts are useless, utter gank. They have massively reduced the power of snipers now, as you hit on 4s not 2s.
I agree on the OBs - unless you can get long range AP2 at them they just fire lascannons at you all day, walking away from you if needed.
Yep and twin linked plasma guns if you're close,
My vote goes with a 5 man Sternguard Squad all armed with combi meltas, can almost any vehicle up close and can shoot 30" at ap4 to deal with light/med infantry, and can flux core heavy infantry at 18"

6 Marine Armies and counting... Why do I do it to myself ? Someone help me I'm an addict
3 Killa kans with grotzookas for 135 points. 9 strength 10 PK attacks on the charge that usually hit on a 4+, and 6 strength 6 blasts at 18" that tend to dismantle even marines. Plus, taking down 3 AV 11 walkers is often harder than dealing with a single AV 12 walker like a dreadnought.

Three flame templates that wound/glance on a 4+, with no cover/armor saves. Very small deepstrike footprint means you can place 'em aggressively for the alpha strike (my record is two vindicators and a LRR in one go). A 4++ means they'll take more fire than you'd think.
5 horrors of tzeentch, including the changeling / 90 points (100 w/bolt of change).
15 dice of S4/AP4 dakka at 18", plus all the changeling's shenanigans and a 4++ save. And it's a scoring unit.
For my money, the nastiest 85 points in the marine codex. If the marine player is going first, his opponent must either suck it up and accept that he will lose a vehicle (what with the auto-hitting melta & krak grenades on turn one) or must start everything in reserves. If the marine player goes second, he can either infiltrate in the backfield or outflank with a fast-moving melta surprise. Either way, this is a huge impact on the game for only 85 points.
3 screamers of tzeentch / 48 points (!)
Jetbikes w/meltabombs and a 4++ save. 'Nuff said.
When someone smiles at me, all I see is a chimpanzee begging for its life.
I would be inclined to say that wolf scouts are huge. It cost 110 for 5 vets (marine stats) to all have MB and 1 melta gun. The best part is they have behind enemy lines, so they can come off ANY board edge.
Scouts x 5 Powerfist, BP/CS x 4 + Land Speeder Storm
150 (160 with the Heavy Flamer)
Multi-Melta Attack Bike x 3
150
* This is the only one of these options I use regularly. I like full Tac Squads, still working on my scouts, and don't use bikes for much of anything. This Dreadnought package has caused WAY more trouble than his points, game after game after game. Smoke a tank or roast a squad, it's straight gangsta.

If you didn't use such bad language (WTF does CAWNTEST mean?) I'd know what this thread is all about. Seriously though... monkey see, monkey do? (Yes this applies to me as well )

That's really the only things that cost 150 or less in my armies :-(
This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

I think you can say that about every single unit in the game, Captain.
This is Warhammer 40K, right? Everything dies. It's not about dying, it's about making an impact worthy of points value before you go. I think a Drop Podded Dreadnought is an incredible overall value in 150 point package.
It's like a cheaper Trygon, it's all up in the enemy's lines Turn 1 (with a nice guidance system) doing it's dirty work, and the Pod itself can be used to change the LOS game, sit on an objective, spew SB rounds, etc. I did this in a game against Guard, and they spent so much time working on the Dreadnought and the rest of my army (which was on top of them by the time they got rid of the AV12 Monster) that they forgot about the Pod. It ended up sitting on the objective to contest it, blocking the LOS of his Leman Russ in the corner, and killing about 10 guardsmen all by itself. The Dreadnought took a Chimera and a squad before it died. But the most important contribution it made? My Land Raider was 12" from his lines without ever being shot at.
Gangsta gangsta at the top of the list. In my book anyway.
None as they don't have the speed to get to some of those options who outrange them.

My entry is way below the allowed 150 but it's gotta be a big mek with kff. It's not gonna kill things but it's gonna let the other units that do kill things get where they need to go.
