Just thought i would start a new thread for all the random bits i do, that don't fall into my blogs etc.

Someone on one of my other threads asked me to have a go at a Blood Ravens Librarian.

Here are some WIP, No doubt i will be posting all sorts of other stuff up here in the near future.







The right hand will have a flame sitting in an open palm when i get round to it.

The eagle thing on the inside of the hammer(the side thats turning to the face) has the wing detached from the hammer , try gluing it again

I was just going through my bitz box and came across this, i started it ages ago, but never bother to finish it, the GS not that good and the painting is WIP (and a bit shabby), but i thought someone might find it interesting

that second model look great the colors go well kinda gives me a ancient greek/roman feel

Thanks. even tho i don't really like the mini to much, i do like the RH pad, that design may find its way into some of my other stuff in the future.

Anyways, If done a little more on the Lib, not sure what else to do to him, i think robes wold look too much and i don't really like banners that much, there will eventually be a flaming orb/lighting ball in his open palm, or i might make it look as if his hand is on fire.

This would be pretty tricky to do but....you could have the ball of fire slightly above his hand (very thin wire perhaps) but otherwise it looks really nice, i like it. Where is the face from??

That is exactly what I was thinking about. The face is from the GW imperial guard heads avalible at the GW website. I use alot of them ad there is a nice variaty in the set.

The pistol on that marine is amazing! How did you make it?

Plasti card/wire and a small drill bit. you can see in the pic very mell but there are small plasti card and GS details on it to.

I did this AGES ago when i had nothing better to do, i might finish it off, as it is quite funny.

It looks like he has just missed a penalty in an important football match.

Some great stuff in this one... I think I may follow it. Keep it coming! I especially like the terminator you're working on. Is it based on an AoBR termy?

And the greek/roman looking model has great photographic composition... I love how the eye is naturally drawn along the model's contours. A+!

Thanks for the comments guys, i do feel that i am getting better with green stuff/sculpting but i'm no where near where i want to be. Iv got a lot of practicing yet.

The Lib Termi is based on a AoBR mini, i bought some bitz from the set cheap to practice on.
Im not that happy with the book on his RH pad, but i dont feel like going back to it now, I have got other ideas pressing at me. Stuff that iv been thinking about attempting for a little while and now really want to get started. Its a Chaos take on the blood angels.

I have found yet another mini i never finished, its i true scratch sculpt i did a while back, only ever put base colours to it tho. i will post a pic soon.

Ok here they are, (the one on the left) This is 95% scratch built/sculpted, all done with GS and a very small amount of plasticard. As you can see i tried to make it "true scale", i'v stood him next to a norm marine so you can see the difference, i even did the head! never finished it because i didn't really like the outcome and over all feel, was good practise tho. this is deff not some of my best work, it is pretty old tho.

Honestly, the head sculpt doesn't do it for me, but the rest of it is super spectacularly fantasmic! If you were to put a regular SM head on that sculpt, it would be the uber. I can barely make a lousy cape, so I am very jealous of your skills.

Got to agree with you there, the head is pretty lousy.

I'v put some paint to the Lib, Still WIP. I decided to speed paint him, painted him up this afternoon and evening. What do you think?

I think (if im brutally hones) he needs to be a lighter blue, also i recko there needs to be more bone colour on it (but thats on cos he BR)

I agree, should have gone with an enchanted base. I'm not that happy with it but it was good practice. I didn't really enjoy painting him that much either. Does show what you can do with cheap bits and a fee hours. I'm might finish him off but I really want to starty next project now.

If you call that speed painting I'll never pick up a paint brush again .

Wow, that sculpted true scale marine is pretty awesome! Over at Troll Forged we've been looking for some sculptors who might be interested in helping us out with a little project called the Armoured Flesh Golem or "Biogolem". Maybe it will give you some ideas? Curious about your insights on this as well!

Thanks for that, there are some very nice bits of concept art over there, I would be happy to do some sculpts. Only thing is they are all very SM. I will have a proper read of the thread later, are you thinking of producing/selling them?

This morning in between writing one of my Uni reports i put this together.

Its a take on the blood angles but "chaos-y", (Angles of Decay - formally Angels Exemplar) I think the wings need to be a little smaller, but other than that i like it. Please bare in mind its more concept than WIP, and need a lot of work yet.

It will eventually get based on a "broken concrete" looking slab, so you can see the impact cracks etc.

As for paint, im thinking bleached bone base and gold, but all very chipped, dirty and rusty with some chaos tatto style graphics on the legs and pad.

The wings might be slightly smaller, other than that it looks great! Great pose!

As for the AFG, we do hope to produce and sell them one day if they ever get made. Right now they are very much in the concept phase.

What do you think of the two handed chain sword? Too big?

You're a very skilled sculpter. I'm liking the concept behind this latest piece- kinda doing a smash down to ground attack sorta thing. Librarian term is also very cool, as well as your fully scratchbuilt space marine. I would critique the face, but considering my own attempts at getting good faces, I won't this time
