Edit: whoops i just noticed there is actualy a blog forum >_< can a moderator (or admin?) maybe move this thread to the correct forum ?

Hi Hunter
The models might look great, but the Dread is nicely camouflaged by the vice

Bring them forward on the cutting mat and crop the image tighter to the subject, or use a paper background.

hth
look forward to seeing some progress in the blog

Looks cool, has great potential, can't wait to see what happens next.

Nothing against you at all, but I just want to get out my general hatred for Word Bearers, though I will always love to see good conversions and a good paint job, good luck with what you are doing.

Liking the army, especially liking the converted dreadnought.

really good conversion work! personally, the word bearers scheme you put on those marines is AMAZING, also using green for the helmet hair really makes it pop! great work

A note on the dread, i really like the conversion work, i agree though the instadeath ratio is a bit rough on the mm. I run a pair of em down a flank and give one 2 ccw or a heavy bolter and the other a heavy bolter that way he can blast away till his hearts content and they can still get their jobs done without killing my own. I like dreads too much to keep em off my list.

To paint models like that is actualy fairly easy it just takes alot of time and patience if you have those 2 key ingredients anyone should be able to do this

Also this specific tutorial was very helpfull when i first started painting mine : http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?autocom=ineo&showarticle=373

Sweet army. Very nice colors the word bearers ive seen Irl are a tad brighter.

I guess its because dark colors are the only ones I can see clearly as I'm abit color blind.

I've sold so many armies. :(

Looks really good, I might have to put my old termies on 40mm bases now. I was worried about how it would look but yours seem to be ok.

Otherwise,I love the word bearers colour scheme.

It still looks abit odd but i cut peices out of the sprues to make small bricks to cover up the sides once i put gravel on them it will likely just apear they are standing on a small elevation on the ground

I really love anyone doing something different from either Lash + oblit spam armies or all nurgle or khorne armies. Word bearers are especially close to my heart as I had a small contingent of them when I first started this hobby. You've done them beautifully and shown people that csm aren't just stuck to the cult armies.

The biggest thing I would like to see in more word bearer armies are more daemons that aren't khornish. They certainly love khorne, but they worship the rest of the gods equally and in one of the books there was a very powerful scene of a dark apostle flying into battle on an anti-grav altar swarmed by flying tzeentch screamers/discs/mantas. He had lots of small screamers (the size of a cat or so) swarming close up around his body protecting him from small arms fire and devouring anything around him like a living chainaxe. I'm sure it would be torture to model but it would be impressive if pulled off. Even if you don't do all of that it would be nice to see people using screamers/daemonettes/etc.

Another interesting tidbit the books presented which seemed like an awesome modeling opportunity is the idea of khantankas. They are ritual knives forged by the individual word bearer upon joining the ranks. They are all uniquely designed so some will have broad plainly-detailed flat blades like a shortsword and others will have arcanely-runed sacrificial blades.

That is a good paintjob!

The real threat to the imperium is not:

it is :
92% of teens have moved on to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listen to real music, copy and paste this into your sig.
95% of teens would go into a panic attack if the jonas brothers were about to jump off the empire state building copy and paste this if you are the 5% who would pull up a lawn chair grab some popcorn and yell JUMP BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GENERATION 6: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.
