I was inspired by one of the Storm Raven conversions that I decided to replicate and do my own improvements.
The only downside to this particular conversion is that it borrows a lot of parts from other kits. The last image is
a size comparison to an earlier Storm Raven conversion that I made (Easier than this current conversion to build).

















Anyway I am still deciding on the Dreadnought crane and missile placements. The wings are detachable and so are
the Hurricane bolters. This is more of a Mini-Thunder hawk look. Comments and Suggestions welcome.

I do like this new version. It has a solid feel to it that the other one lacks.

The angles of the top make it look bent.

Both models seems okay... in other forum i saw some sketches, but that two are a lot better...

The rear is nearly perfect but the front seems odd.
Maybe 2 valks placed against each other instead of the Land raider/valk combo?

I think the non- defined weapon mounts (Codex entry) do
increase the complextiy of a scratchbuild stormraven.

Your idea of à top mounted turret seems fine, maybe the second set of basic weaponry is hull mounted?
Missiles should always find a home under the Wings.

Of the Storm Raven conversions floated online so far, this is the closest yet to how I would picture it... although the front end still looks a little too recognisably Land Raider, and the angled piece that the wings are attached to makes the fuselage look oddly angled.

Definitely a nice start, though.

Definitely better of the two and a very good Stormraven conversion for me.

It certainly looks pretty cool, but as others have said, it looks like it is bent in the middle.

If you can shave just a few mm from the bottom of the LR section and rejoin it it will look a lot better.

It looks a bit like a cut and shunt job at the moment- as others are saying, the join between the valk end and the raider front is too abrupt

I quite like it. I'd offer some ideas, but they've already been said, so I'll leave it at that. I like the idea of it looking like a miniature Thunderhawk, though.

Some one messaged me about adding how I did the Dread Crane. Here is a better pic.

The dread is mounted by two magnets, I just created 2 crane/talon structure to represent how the Dred is
carried into battle.

IT DROPS DREADS! Wow, that makes it at least 5 times cooler, and it was pretty cool to begin with.

Yup, I hope they make the Storm Raven Available to other Chapters. I think they will especially if a official model comes out.
That is one dilemma a lot of converters find is how to properly mount the dreadnought. I went with magnets and a representation
of external cranes/talons. Anyway I hope to paint this baby up at some point and post the finished product.

I'm not a fan.

It's well-executed, but it still looks like half a land raider glued to half a valkyrie with a predator turret glued to the bottom. For me at least, a conversion needs to take the disparate parts and bring them together into a new model. This take on the storm raven doesn't do that, at all.

I like the other one better. It doesn't look so front-heavy.

With the dread, I don't think it looks so top heavy.

i prefer the original conversion you made with just the valk bits.

I think the tail would look better without the wing at the top. Also, like most stormraven conversions I've seen it looks too front heavy.

Looks like a late 80's version of the other all Valk-bits S-raven tbh. All you really need to do is tidy it up so there isnt such an abrupt change between the LR nose, (which is a great idea btw) and Valk hull.

Yeah, that conversion of mine is more sleek, this one is bulkier. I do like the challenge of trying to make this work. I am finishing up painting another model so I wont get to this Land-Valk Raven till I get that out of the way.

In all seriousness, though, I like it. I agree, it's like a mini thunderhawk. Although I think it should be bulked out a bit in the rear.

Very nice conversion. Now they just need an Errata to allow them in all SM armies. oh well. 3000 point Apocalypse games.

This might also work for my pre-herest army for next yeas adepticon team tournament. use it as a storm bird.
