Been a while since I looked at Scribor, seems they heard some people might have a need for minotaurs:

Beautiful sculpts...

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

I just ordered some Scibor miniatures - the first I've ever ordered - a set of his generic Sci-Fi robed servants, plus the one with the big mechanical drum and the one with the Servo-Skull.

I hope they look as good as the pics make them out to be.

And we can now await the teeming masses who will come in here to complain about 'press-moulds' and other nonsense.

They also look like they'd go well with this fella:

And there's the Avatars of War minotaurs to consider as well.

I'm not a fan of this minotaurs. I don't like neither the faces nor the bodies :\

I think the chest muscles look a bit squished and messy, and I'm not a fan of the faces.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Well, I hate to say it, but those legs.. seriously, what did scibor smoke when he sculpted those? they looks so ridicously small, it's a pain to the eyes to see!

But I do like the heads, though!

I guess making decent-looking minotaurs wasn't as easy as all those gw-bashers thought, after all. Maybe there's a lesson in this for all of us.

You guys have got to be joking. Those minos are fantastic. Leaps and bounds better than GW's .

If they suffer from anything, it's that they're too believable. Next to GW's minos they look soft and weak. And elephantitis-free.

Edited to add: Not sure what's supposed to be going on with the last one's axe though.

Well, the Mino's Scibor sculpted are WAY better then GW's Schwarzenegger-taurs, that one's clear as day..

But again, I dislike the legs.. everything else is pretty top notch work.. It looks to me that the legs were hastly sculpted, just to get the whole minotaur-model finished.

Yeah, the lesson being "Even a guy working out of his garage can sculpt a better minotaur than GW can."

I wouldn't call them "amazing" by any means, but compared to the cartoonish "minotaurs" with ridiculous, OTT musculature that just makes them look fat and lumpy instead of big and strong, and faces that the sculptor seemingly went out of his way to ensure weren't bovine-looking at all, they're not that bad.

Yeah, these are better than GW's effort.

Honestly though, I just wish someone would sculpt them they way they look in the Beastmen army book art...big and barrel-chested but not bodybuilders, with better proportions in terms of the size of the head, etc. It really isn't that difficult of a sculpt.

OT, but same goes for the Razorgor, BTW...looks nothing like the artwork in the book.

I like em to be honest, quite a bit. The legs do look short, but were they extended instead of crouched down, they would be relatively in proportion. I also like the chest musculature as I find it somehow gorilla-ish and not quite human in density, but the overall anatomy is quite good.

Scibor is an excellent sculptor/s, and I particularly like their fantasy stuff. Dwarfs look sick imo. Their 40k (or not, ahem) is a little ott for me, I enjoy the details on the press-molded stuff, but they are overall a little on the bulky end for my tastes. However, I don't understand the fuss that has been made over the techniques he uses, it's the results that matter.

They're pretty nice. I still stick with my GW minotaurs, $44.50(US) for 3 and a multitude of customization options in the box is better for my wallet then 25$ a piece with zero customization(that I can see).

There's some proportion issues, (although that's more personal aesthetic issue than anything) but I like them. Best thing Scibor's done in a while.

With regards the proportions, bulls are often portrayed as being most massive around the shoulders and front limbs and somewhat undersized in the hind quarters.

see also this amazing minotaur from the now defunct ilyad miniatures company:

It gives them a frontloaded physique and an apelike gait and profile.

I think the more massive front and smaller legs work well in these minis, they are certainly more aesthetically pleasing than the GW weirdness.

What a great looking find you have there.

Those minatours are great, The rest of thier line hits the spot, too.

I actually like the first one. The beer-belly makes it look like less of a horrific muscle-elemental and more of a believable monster. It's still big and scary.

Wow, that pose is strikingly similar.

As for Scibor's sculpts--I like them better than GW's version. I was horrified to see them when they came out (GW's). Such a waste of a great concept and what could have been a selling point.
