My first sodapop miniature, when I saw this model I immediately thought about Hatsune Miku, in order to make her more like miku I did a small conversion for her hair and the color scheme is also from Miku. Hope you like her

Yes, it's 28mm scale.

Seeing it in "the flesh" so to speak, it is a very short skirt indeed.

Great paint job!

A lot of so-called 28mm figures are 30mm+ these days, and the Soda Pop are an exaggerated 'anime' style. Height-wise they are very similar but the body form is more spindly/less 'heroic'.

Excellent paintjob, though I still don't like the model much.

Someone fetch Lunahound this paint job is amazing. Good job. My only problem is the guitar/axe thing should probably be a leek and there should be a computer on one of her arms.

No offense but don't you find the whole thing to be kinda bordering on sexist/pedo

It's a 25mm tall metal figurine. It's a bit of a stretch to call that sexist/paedo.

I know Barbie started her career as a porn doll. I don't think the people who buy this particular figure need to be put on the Sex Offenders Register.

There is a difference between a doll that a little girl plays with and a model in such a flaunting pose wearing panties and a short skirt, who also looks like a little girl so it's pretty creepy.

For those that don't know, Hatsune Miku is a musical instrument that Yamaha made a few years back. It allows the user to have a voice that sings anything that they want it to. It was created by sampling a real human, and then putting an interface on it. Yamaha also did the very smart thing of making it extremely reasonably priced and putting a cute anime face on the figure before releasing it out into the wilds of Japan.

Needless to say, when you give computer geeks a pretty anime character that will sing whatever you want her to, they kind of lapped it up.

Now that character has video games, and hundreds of videos on youtube with people making 3d models to sing and dance the songs online.

An example of one of the songs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDxayry2kjQ&feature=channel (it starts singing at about 1:30)

We do have a western version, but due to the much more phonetically challenging English language, it's not nearly as refined.

Also where are you getting that barbie was a 'porn doll' because though I don't give a crap about action figures that sounds pretty far fetched.

What exactly IS Vocaloid, anyway? Why are so many people obsessed with what appear to be personified synthesizer voices?

Because it is a personalized synthesizer, that can produce high quality singing. At a price that is extremely cheap for a musical instrument, (approx 250 usd) Make it cheap, make it cute, give geeks the power to customize things, and the Japanese are hooked on that like a fat kid on cake. It was so successful, that there is just about a whole family of vocaloids over there now.

Very nice paintjob. Hatsune Miku was the first thing I thought of as well, but I donno if that's how I'm gonna paint mine, especially because you've done such a good job here.

The vocaloid project has evolved from a cute voice synth program to something much larger like a wide number of nerdy things have. The internet has breathed life into it in a way, she and her counterparts have widely accepted personalities and a large nerd cultural fan base. Cant exactly say why they love they just do. I really like it and love hearing the music people create with it and think its neat when i see people cosplay as Miku and the others at anime conventions.

Where exactly are you getting that she's a "little girl"?

I mean apart from being 30mm tall.

ED209, REALLY nice smooth painting. And the greenish glow near the floor is extremely well done. Very rock.

For your group comparison shot, who's the shirtless alchemist?

Little girl may be stretching it, I'm sure it's a robot or something but it just looks creepy because the style makes whatever she is look young. Too young.

Really the idea of a grown man painting something like this and people praising it weirds me out.

And tell me, whatever storyline is behind this thing because I assume there is one, how old is this thing supposed to be? Really?

She is a robot, I don't think she has a defined age. However in the artwork she has quite the bust which didn't come through in the model (probably a first for Soda Pop) which makes her look far younger than she should.
