^I felt that humor was better than getting into a detailed description of how the various anatomical clues represented on the Robot/Cyborg model are idicative of a model intended to represent a woman between the ages of 19-24.

Not that it really matters when were are talking about the eqivalent of a model of a doll. If I got rid of every one of my daughters dolls that can be posed in rediculous pose that show underwear then she would have no Barbies or even Raggedy Annes. Andy would be ok but I digress.

@Ed- You've got some mad painting skills.

It is pretty widely known that Barbie was copied from this German doll. I give Wikipedia as it is easy to reference. The association has been reported in print media too.

The vocaloid project has evolved from a cute voice synth program to something much larger like a wide number of nerdy things have. The internet has breathed life into it in a way, she and her counterparts have widely accepted personalities and a large nerd cultural fan base. Cant exactly say why they love they just do. I really like it and love hearing the music people create with it and think its neat when i see people cosplay as Miku and the others at anime conventions.

They did a Hatsune Miku live concert in Tokyo a few months ago. The Pepper's Ghost illusion was used to project an animated 3D model on to the stage.

Whu-oh, the moral guardians are here. Leg it!

I'm morally wrong for not liking a little girl in such a disgusting pose?

It is actually a pewter figurine about 25mm tall, depicting an android designed to look like an anime cartoon character aged about 20. The picture you dislike is about triple the real life size of the miniature and picks out detail which is barely visible to the eye.

I don't say you're wrong to dislike it. I just think you're reading more into the model than it merits.

The only thing I really get from this model as "little girl" is the very thin limbs. And well most non athletic girls have tiny thin limbs.

This is like the third thread I have read today that the moral police are not happy with. When did little girls get breasts/hips?

Fantastic painting. I thought airbrush at first too.

Also people need to realize that, thats how the Japanese do things. Their made up women are always incredibly slender(infact real women are too) and have the big innocent eyes and such. Its part of their weird ass culture, and totally normal. Yea it freaks out some Americans, but we do things that freak other cultures out just as easily. I mean, they think we all sleep with guns. Speaking of, Ive got to wake up little blowyourheadoff........hes sleeping in.

Way to misconstrue my statement there, bud. "Don't give a crap about action figures" totally means I'm fine with their equivalent of whatever this model is, sure, and not that I don't personally buy any or have any (since I was 8 years old). Really, you're only proving me right.

@Middleshoe-How does his statement prove your prudish attitude correct?

Sid wasn't agreeing with your point but was pointing out how your words seem to indicate a double standard. Using the statement doesn't necessarily mean that he personally thinks that the model is sexist, only that this is how you come across.

Double standard for what? Prudish? Jesus where are you guys drawing this about me because I'd love to see where I said that I hate women or short skirts. The fact is it looks like a little girl, and to play off as "Oh that's just their culture! Don't hate me for loving it!" is a cop out. Pedophilia is wrong everywhere, deal with it.

1. As someone who worked in child protection for 3 years, this model is in no way 'paedo'. Let's kindly drop the bloody subject or start a subject on it in the OT. Diverting this poster's thread is insulting to the artist, discuss it elsewhere. That's why we have a nice big forum with many specialised boards.

2. To the OP, wonderful colouration and as others have said, the blending is so seamless it looks like airbrushing. Any tips or hints you'd like to share with us on your technique, how you start and work colour through like that? I'd certainly appreciate a tutorial on your style.

You got the part where it was explained that the model is of an adult-modelled robot, and not a child, right?

Seriously, can we drop the paedophilia discussion. It's off-base, and not appropriate. If you don't like the model, that's entirely up to you. Move on.
