As a personal preference my favorite point number to play has to be 1850....or 2500. What's everyone else's preference?

Personally I like 1000 point battles. Its enough to get some decent units in and the battle doesn't go on for too long. Sometimes going up to 2000 when its practical.

1500 is my favorite. Most codices are fairly well balanced at that point, and it forces the player to make choices as to what will go in the army list.

Also, you can get a 1500 point battle in fairly quickly, while still fielding a bunch of models.

1850 and 2000. Neither takes too long, and you still get plenty of little people to push around.

1500; same reasoning as Dracos.

Anything 1000 or more is all great for me. I really want to get into a big apoc one of these days! I also haven't tried the battlemission: killteams, but it looks fun.

1250-1850, Because you can actually maneuver.

On a 6'x4' board anything that hits 2000+ is more like watching a toddler slam to toy cars together. Theres not a lot of finesse, just slamming the armies into one another head-on.

1000 for me. Enough to get some interesting units in, small enough that the games don't require a huge time commitment.

1250 to 1500. Long, but not too long. You can still get a decent sized force and use most of the units you want to. There's lots of maneuvering room. The board doesn't look like random troops with small gaps for terrain. It actually feels like two squadrons randomly meeting w/o the rest of their armies 5 ft behind them. It's supposed to be a skirmish. If you want large battles, play apoc. or wFB

1000 or 1500, it makes the player really think about his army and only take what you need. rather than just spam units on the field

I like 1500 also, but I know for a fact that the Ork codex has a real sweet spot at 1500 pts.

1500-1750. The newer armies are very powerful at higher levels, compared to my favored, older army.

No less than 1200 usually. Up to 2000 if I've got plenty of time. Once tried a 4000-pointer but it ended with a concession in the second turn.

Its 1750 pts for Marines (get more goodies in there) and 1500 pts with Eldar (small pt games favor Eldar).

I think 2000 points is the best.

Join the Imperial Guard. The pay's lousy, the battles fierce and you probably won't ever come back again. BUT you get a lasgun.

1500 t0 2500, while it takes a while with the larger point games, sometimes I just enjoying throwing out my entire army one field and battling another large army.

If I can talk people into it, I actually like 500 and 750 point games. They're nice and quick and you can generally get a few of them in in a night.

In practice though, my Orks have cheap troops and while they're fine at low point levels, not all armies are. I find most of the games I play are in the 1000-1850 point range and that's fine.

- Deathskullz - 6000 points
- Order of the Sacred Rose - 2000 points

1850; because that is what most tourneys are around here and we game casually to practice for tourney play.

I have 2 Apoc games under my belt the First was Guard Vs Orks, and my Wife's stompa killed most of my guard with the Supa-gatler. The second was my guard(with SM allies) against BA, my opponent forfieted in turn 2 after he was left with Commander Dante on the field and less than half his army still in Strategic reserve(I had not even had anything damaged).

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

I've only played 1200 point games. That was fun but I'm like to try 1500 pts. It's just a matter of finding the time and space to play.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.
