If you're not following the whole thing with Mel Gibson, apparently he was taped ranting angrily at his wife/ex-wife on the phone. Everyone's all aflutter over it. Example:
Here's what I find odd about it... Everyone's upset that he said some racist things. Now this article is upset that people aren't upset enough about the sexist things he said.
People, what about the VERY MEAN things he's saying to his WIFE?
Why is it always racism, sexism, bigotry? Why don't people care about things that are REAL anymore, like being horribly mean to another human being?
I'm not really worried about him, I'm more worried that society is so self-centered, they try to find ways that he insulted them... Instead of focusing on the fact that he's being cruel to his wife.

I think you were referring to the media, and how this whole thing is no less than a frenzied panic of opinion, as it always is in the case of stars doing stupid stuff.
It is fair enough to assume that everyday folk are no less pissed off about his comments in one regard over the other, but the media drum beats in monotone much of the time; even if it is rather insufficient coverage of a washed out (if not still rich) celebrity, it is still a huge mess, and will be covered in a fashion that ignores that.
Anyway... who in the feth cares what that scumbag has to say at this point? Whoopi Goldberg?

Exactly. It's like watching somebody beat somebody else up, and then being mad because it made you feel icky to have to see it. How selfish can people be?

I think the most important point in this story is Mel Gibson looking like he's about to tie the poor girl to the railroad tracks. Seriously, what the hell is with that moustache?

Well all the media attention will go away soon for him. Just like it has for Brown, West, Woods, and many other "fallen" Celebs, no one cares about them or there problems anymore, its all blown over now.

Mel Gibson is certainly a grade A ballbag, but no worse than millions of others like him around the world, the main difference being that he is in the public eye.
Regardless of what he has said I dont agree with personal calls being published via the media, despite what the content was he is entitled to a certain degree of privacy. I am sure that it is just as humiliating for his wife.
With Gibson it all seems to be words and stupidity (drink driving), it's all a bit like an angsty teenager who is just angry at the world in general. The reality is he probably despises himself and vents that anger at any and all who pop into his tiny little mind. Sad really.

Exactly, if some "normal person" did this to their SO we would be like wow he is a dick and forget about it. However for some reason when celebrities do it we blow it out of proportion...
So he is an donkey-cave, so are most other people. I have lost my temper and said some things i regret saying.
Im not going to suddenly stop watching his movies because he had a tantrum. Most of his movies are very good and I enjoy them. Not like im going to go ugh Mel is such a dick i cant believe im still watching this..
