I'm wondering what your least favorite models are when it comes to painting. It could be that they have a lot of little detail, are posed weirdly, or you just are sick of them.

I'm getting pretty sick of Tau Fire Warriors myself, I finally decided to start painting and have an entire army of bare plastic to wade through. I've been doing one a day (it's taking me ~2 hours to do one, I think that might have something to do with the fact I'm doing it with a fine detail brush) and it's getting pretty boring doing the same coloring over and over. The worst part is all the little "joints" in the armor. I undercoated black so that's an advantage, but I am so sick of tracing over them all in Chaos Black every time my brush slips. Those pads on the legs are the worst.

What about you guys?

If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.

well I hate painting space marines. I have nothing against their appearance, I just think they are very boring and all look very similar. The chapter specific models and more elite units are nice, but tactical marines are so dull. I wish they put more detail into the armour, like what you see in the artwork. Companies like chapterhouse studios have managed it so why can't GW.

Dementedwombat- if you struggle painting the little lines on FW, get yourself a very thin fine liner pen and use that. It's a great help and they don't cost very much.

Tyrranids: lots of detail, so many painters go crazy on them.

Me, I just dunk them in a tin of brown fence paint and leave to drip dry.

Look, it's dark in space; why would a hive-mother/queen bother hatching colourful offspring?

Beastmen gors, especially the older plastics. Not much interesting detail, but lots of things that can make your model look bad (like the join from arm to shoulder). I especially hate the little necklaces. They add almost nothing to the model and are a real pain to paint.

I hate Ork boys in general.

There's just so damn many of them, and they have so much fiddly details.

I'm starting to think that GW hates Horde armies.

For me it's probably the Defiler. Most of it's because I was stupid and used a #2 brush for the first two (so it took HOURS), but even once I got smart and slapped the basecoat over everything and went back to get the details it took forever. There's just SO many edges to extreme highlight : /

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Are you fething kidding me? Most Lord of the Rings models are gorgeous. Generally, people who say the figures are terrible just hate them for being attached to a licensed game that takes away their precious hobby space in White Dwarf. Get over yourself and look at the detail, proportions, and other niceties of the LotR line.

Personally, I hate painting Lootas. My Ork army had a speedpainting scheme so I could paint it as fast as humanly possible, and the Lootas threw a wrench in all that. Stormboyz too. I love the models for both though. I also don't have much desire to paint any Space Marines again, but that's because I've done like 5 armies of them.

I like painting my army (Space Marines) except for the guns and swords. When it comes time to do the weapons, I just want to give up. I hate the metallic paints, and have never managed to successfully do a non-metallic metallic. Makes me want to paint all their weapons black and just be done with it.

DE Raiders. A tank sized model covered in as much fiddly detail as some infantry (seriously, my warriors have more flat empty spaces) most of which is at horrible angles to get a brush into and yet is really obvious if you miss it.

I now understand why most DE players just go 'screw the detail' and roughly drybrush the whole tank one colour.

I loved painting my deamon prince with wings. I've got him killing two eldar. Ones in hand the other is under his foot. He's my center peice. I Also love painting vehicals, idky. The most fun vehical ive painted was a land raider that I put a shrine to nurgle on, lots of fun.
I hate painting my eldar. They are so small and frigle.

Ork Boyz take a while to paint. The small straps are a pain to hit properly, and the skin requires a fair bit of work to look good.

Even so, it's nice to have 100 of them to practice on.

Couldn't agree more, and it still takes me about 4-5 coats of Blood Red (slightly thinned) over the mechrite to get anywhere near good coverage, so finding the will to paint is getting harder...

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

Guardsmen, Cadians specifically. I love my IG army to death, but everytime I start takin em out of the foam I notice one more belt, one more aquilla, on more buttstock, one more of those greive type thingys they wear....I could spend an hour examining and touching up each and every single one and still won't get everything. (sigh) Had to do a horde army....

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

necrons are not too hard, just really boring. After 10 warriors, its just fun to paint them anymore.

I particularly dislike genestealers. They look awesome, but painting around the torso is a real pain.

Also just the rank and file troopers of any IG army are annoying to deal with.
