title says it all. There are alot of people who think there's alot wrong with the codex. Discuss what you'd like to see. I guess I'll get the ball rolling.
Here's what I'd like to see:
Berzerkers with the ability to take jump packs
Free flamers, missile launchers and heavy boltwers, like in the sm codex.
cultists/traitor guardsmen
A dark apostle wth rules similar to a chaplain
Summoned daemons who can take a mark that grants bonuses.(+1 attack, or +1 toughness etc.)
Cheaper raptors

So go ahead and post your ideas.

Legion rules, less "Space Marine", more "Chaos".

strength 5 bloodletters again... passive deamonic upgrades for lords again, and yes dark apostles as well

Oh man to many things to list.

A rehash of 3.5 would hit the nail on the head pretty well.

Make all out options not so overcosted for one. Give us some actuall chaos options.

Cult termis. Some zerker termis plague termis ext ext.

Chaos only land raider variants.

Defiler variants.

Being able to have some better options then the a copy past of normal SM HQ options.

Chaos specific demons. I fear we might loose demons with the next book but hopefully they keep the lesser demons just with god specific options. FNP, FC, hit and run, rending ext ext.

oh and the one thing i DO NOT want to see is GW forcing people to use SC in order to use cult troops as troops or use them at all. I hate how GW is putting SC on us and it really is ruining things. 10,000 years of history and people are being forced to use a hand full of SCs to be able to play the style of army they want is a load of crap.

Ill be epicly pissed if they hose me once agian on the CSM book and force me to use kharn to get zerkers or typhus for plague marines ext ext. They kicked me in the teeth with the current book and I dont think I could handle a second kick.

Being forced to have your HQ choise have the right mark to use cult troopers as troops is more then fair and makes all the sense in the world. The SC thing is NOT.

Drop the Insaine ruling on Chaos Dreadnoughts.....cheesy

They had that in 3.5 and I didnt like it I dont think anyone did.

Having dreads worth using would be fantastic. I love love dreads and i hate that they are not worth taking.

Oh forgot dread claws! I wont ever use them but they are in the fluff, Nids got pods before we did which is BS.

I really hope we get a new dex soon. I herd a small rumor about one kinda soon, Herd some story about someone was able to talk to someone at GW about why the havoc boxs isnt for sell anymore and they strongly hinted at them getting redone soo hopefully a new dex.

plus in all honesty I havent herd as much of an out cry of any of the other dexs then the CSM dex.

Alright so I'm guessing no one likes rage. It's gone.

If you actually read the rules for Walkers in 5th edition you will see that Chaos Dreadnoughts are worth taking. They don't have a 360 degree line of sight like they did in 4th edition.

A revamp of the old 3.5 codex without Daemons, they have thier own codex now. More upgrades for the Daemon prince god specific more than just a mark, cult termies, uhh maybe a 'scout' like cultist unit, and a more 'old school' feel to chaos less of this renegade gak.

If demons are out then it would be silly to keep demons princes since they are also nothing but giant demons.

From fluff as far as i understnad demon princes hang out in the warp most of the time like other demons. Keeping the DP but dropping the other demons would be lame imo it wouldnt really make sense.

Yes we have this almost god like figure lead us but the smaller demons? nah we are not cool enuff for them.

I would like to see demon steeds still kept they are not used that often now but if they made them better or let you put them in a LR you would see them more often. You would prolly still see them now if not for the DP being clearly better then the other HQs well thats the general feeling anyways.

1. Like someone said Cult Termies (giving them marks isnt the same thing)
2. Plague Marines have a T5 not t4/5
3. Noise Marines come with their special guns standard
4. Chaos Gods and their Magic Number give an aspiring champion free upgrade (S=6,N=7,K=8,T=9)
5. Chaos Land Raiders get Daemonic Spirit
6. A dex for Death Guard, Sons Of Horus, etc
7. Make Chaos the Space Marines ultimate bad guys again
8. Cult Dreads
9. Lost and the Damned
10. Bring back some of the better Chaos wargear (Collar of Khorne etc)
11. Better worded and all around better Chaos Psycher powers
12. New Model for Abaddon

hm.... thats all I can think of for now

New LR Variants
More units which really convey the nature of Chaos, such as Spawn. Everything else seems to be just too generic Marine-ish.
Boosting of the rules of Abaddon and a better model.

Better options for sorrcerers and Daemon princes , plus more weapons for havocs and no crazded rule for dreds.

I just miss my Legion specific rules. And Uber-customisable Chaos Lords. And Chaos Cultists. And...

Maybe some more cool artwork of the primarchs.

And specific Legion units such as Dark Apostles or Cult Terminators.

Sacfred numbers too come back, as from the 3rd one. Getting some free stuff and benefits from taking (as example) 6 Noise Marines getting free serg or cheaper upgrades.

Yeah i see these threads on most 40k forums pretty often. I would like to think that says something to GW that the SM book needs to be redone and soon. Since there is a very very clear unrest among players about the current book.

ATM GW seems much more interested in " Simplifying" things buy sucking all the flavor and variations out of their codices.

No, you're right, GW does not listen to the opinions of others. They're always working the way THEY want to work.

For example it took til 5th edition to get running. None of the older codexes are getting upgraded quickly either, I think that should be a snap afterall, keep most of the units the same but update abilitys and points cost. Is it really too much to ask?

No, in theory updating codices shouldn't be all that difficult,you have the foundation,just do a bit of needed "tweaking" here and there,but...that's in theory.

In fact,GW is a business,so deciding what minis will sell,what won't...what can be the next " Big uber necessary unit/model, that all the cool kids have to have or their spiffy new army won't be just like every one else spiffy new army." ...these things get in the way of simply writing a decent codex.

My idea would be to use the Space Wolves codex as a template for unit/upgrade pricing and synergy. I think all non cultist units should be able to either take marks or revamp the current icon system for the bonus to remain in effect when the icon bearer is killed. I would also like to see a chaplain and honour guard equivalent.

In terms of where chaos fit into the meta, I would like them to fit in as a smaller, more elite/specialised army, due to marks, passive upgrades and specialists, rather than it currently being a spiky vanilla equivalent.

Yeah as much as I would like to thing these threads matter I am sure they dont.

There have been many times I have seen models. Be them in a white dwarf or in person and they not actually release said model for years abone years later.

I think we all saw the plastic DP in a white dwarf a good year before it came out.

That little terain set that came out with the statue and broken aquila. I had seen that at least a good 3-4 years before that came out.

It would be nice if they did listen and in all reality they would make alot of money off us since chaos wouldnt be a joke anymore but we all know how GW likes to work....

The big things:

Differentiation amongst the Daemons (lesser get marks, greater get specific bonuses ie: better invul [Tzeench], wings [Khorne], higher I [Slaanesh], higher T [Nurgle])

Cult Terminators

Land Raider Variants specific to Chaos

Cultists (not like I'd use them but it'd be nice to have them there as an option)

What? Look at the Blood Angels and Imperial Guard Codices. A bunch of crazy new units with lots of unit combinations. I've been very pleased with how they've been doing the new books. I bet the next CSM one is going to be a lot more like 3.5, but without Daemons of course.
