Tomb Stalker has a very good price for only £36.00 / $57 USD Which makes it officially CHEAPER than even a SM Land Raider Yay for Mega Tank £62.00 / $99 USD

Hi there,
In this Newsletter, we have some fantastic news for Ork (or more properly Gretchin) and Necron players in the shape of two fantastic resin kits that are now available to pre-order.
We’ve also got some news about our Show schedule and the upcoming Italian and German Games Days.

Thanks,
Ead Brown

Necron Tomb Stalker Available to Pre-Order Now
Necron Tomb StalkerThe Tomb Stalker is a previously unseen type of Necron construct armed with potent Gauss weaponry and razor-edged talons, which adds a devastating mix of firepower and combat ability to any Necron army. Designed by Will Hayes, this intricately detailed full resin kit can be constructed in a huge variety of dynamic positions as you can see in these images.

The Tomb Stalker is a huge, un-living machine, a swift and tireless engine of murder built to eternally protect the ancient sepulchres of the Necron Lords. The arcane machinery of the Tomb Stalker detects the pulse of life through hundreds of metres of solid rock, unerringly homing in on its unwitting prey and using a form of phase field to part solid matter like water. Imperial Armour writer Alan Bligh has put together a set of experimental rules for this sleek and ancient instrument of destruction that you can download here.

The Tomb Stalker is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing October 25th.

Grot Mega Tank Available to Pre-Order Now
Grot Mega TankThe Grot Mega Tank represents the pinnacle of Gretchin-built Heavy Tank technology, an overpowering war machine that drives all before it in a storm of scrap and destruction. Designed by Stuart Williamson, this full resin kit is festooned with unique details as you can see here, and Stuart has designed each turret to be fully cross-compatible with the Grot Tanks that he has previously worked on.

Hammered together out of junk, spare Mekboy know-wotz and unbridled Grot enthusiasm, the Grot Mega Tank adds even more firepower to the battlefield madness that has come to be known as a Grotzkrieg, terrifying Imperial Tacticians, Eldar Farseers and Chaos Warlords alike. Taking a brief break from his work on The Badab War Part II, Alan Bligh has created a set of experimental rules for the Grot Mega Tank that you can find here.

The Grot Mega Tank is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing October 25th.

Games Day Italy and Germany Updates
Forge World will be attending Games Day Italy on October 17th and Games Day Germany, also on October 17th. Regrettably we can no longer guarantee to have Reservation orders for Games Day Italy packed and ready, and we will be sending confirmation e-mails within the next seven days. You can reserve items for Games Day Germany until October 8th.

To place a reservation, just send an e-mail titled ‘Games Day Germany Reservation’ to ForgeworldReservations@games-workshop.co.uk including your name and a list of the items you’d like us to provide, you can also telephone us on 0115 916 8177. In either case, we will provide you with an order number and total cost slightly before the event. We’ll also inform you of anything that we can’t guarantee to reserve for you. Remember that anything we run out of can be ordered on the day with the added bonus of completely free shipping!

Scale Model World
Once again Forge World will be attending the IPMS Scale Model World show at the International Centre in Telford on November 13th and 14th. As always, our sales stand will be packed with as much of our stock as we can get our hands on. You can also place a reservation order to collect at the show. Please either e-mail or telephone us using the contact details above, and title your e-mail ‘IPMS Reservation Order’. We’ll be bringing you more news on this popular event in our coming Newsletters.

So is this a sign that FW kits will be more reasonably pri-LOL I couldn't finish that sentence.

Love the tomb stalker's paintjob, lol...they spent more time on the base than the model. Spraypaint silver = done!

They're making it cheap because they know the emotional cost from having to clean and stick together that many resin legs is going to be quite high.

And that's discounting the fact that 50% of the legs will be miscast.

Only downside of that tomb stalker model is that presumably GW won't be making it in plastic, and probably won't include it as a Heavy option in the next codex either. Or am i just being cynical?

Ya, cause you need GW's permission to use it in your games, right? Oh, wait. You're one of those who only play in tournaments? Nevermind.

Every set you get, half will be miscast. So you'll get a new 10 for your first 10 miscast, and get 5 more miscast. Send for more a few times, and you can begin to assemble your model!

Casual players strangle babies, grind their bones into dust and snort them up, so it all evens out.

I wouldn't call them baby dust snorters, but from what I've seen they are some of the most restrictive, unimaginative people I know.

I mean seriously, the "casual" crowd is usually in favor of restricting all sorts of codex-legal units for practically no reason, throwing words around like "WAAC" and "cheese" to describe armies or players they not only can't beat, but outright refuse to learn how to because it might mean they have to change their list or, *gasp*, buy more models, constantly talking crap about how GW has no idea what they're doing and couldn't balance 40k to save their lives...and you're going to try to make tournament players look like the bad guy for telling a guy he can't play with FW rules (which have a reputation for being even worse than GW's, mind you)?

When it comes to being no fun to play with the casual crowd is definitely leaps and bounds ahead of the competitive types. Competitive players will question certain choices you've made, but you'll never hear one say "You can't play with that" about anything but FW stuff.

...anyway, as for the tomb stalker I couldn't tell you one way or the other. Regardless, I would still prefer not to play against it in most games simply because I like playing with "official" rules and missions. I think FW's ability to write rules is dubious and I'm highly skeptical about homebrew anything, since let's face it, most people just aren't as good at writing balanced rules as they'd like to think. Not to say I'd never let someone use it, since it sucks to pay that much money for a FW model and have everyone tell you "No", but at the same time that's the kind of thing you should be prepared to accept when you fork out the cash to begin with: you can't bully people into playing the way you want them to.

How so?
I think theres a middle class of gamer here

I love tournaments and will happily spend £300 or so just to get to one (petrol cost + hotel bill etc)

I do however love to have alot of friendly games.
Nothing as relaxing as sitting back with some mates, having a few drinks and a game or 2.

Edit: Better say something on topic i guess

Stalker as said will be a mass of bad parts that wont fit.
I am however suicidal enough to oder 3, which i may do now since its pretty damn good.

Not too keen on the grot mega tank, want to see more pics of it at some point for its price.

ph34r wrote:This is what "competitive types" actually believe.

The funny thing is I'm not even "competitive". I'm pretty much a strictly casual gamer myself, playing a game of 40k once every other month when I'm lucky, and I never play in tournaments (because I guess I'm the only one with any damn sense and I just avoid that environment if I don't like it, unlike other people who try to push for comp and other bs to make everyone cater to them). I've actually never played in a tournament.

I'm just not a douchebag who tries to claim moral superiority because of how I play with my toys. Though if either side were really in the "right" my vote would go to the guys who play by the rules, consult official GW FAQs, and most importantly don't bitch and whine about "overpowered" this or "cheesey" that, instead putting the pressure on GW for being painfully slow and letting the older armies sit around sucking for years at a time while they push more and more Marine armies. Space Wolves aren't "cheese", your Necrons have just been left to rot and you're blaming the wrong people for it.

Impossible. Tournament gamers are a degenerate sub-species closely related to the rat or perhaps the weasel. A casual gamer - even one willing to besmirch his or her honour with such a low act - would find themselves unable to create offspring due to simple genetics.
