I'm going to say fake, but if it is real then I'll be very, very happy.

Where did you get the pic from anyway?

I found it while looking for new Gks rumors (been going crazy without a rumor for the past month). I found it on another forum (heresy)...i have searched high and low on other various forums and 40k drawings to find out who drew this, but no leads so far.Was hoping dakka's main rumor leaders to either confirm its fake or real (just put a smiley and not say anything and i would the happiest guy on earth).

I hope if its real to be separated from Gk's codex...if its not real can anyone point me to where it was drawn...it will make a really nice wallpaper

That's a fake, the artwork is from Dark Heresy, it's just been retouched and coloured somewhat.

I'm going to move this to 40K general now.

Yep, it's a Dark Heresy thing.

Some random douchebag put it out to try and continue the false rumors of a combined Inquisition codex.

I don't see Guard losing to whoever the cover seems to be boosting, so it's a fake.

Only if it's Inquisition only, and does not include Sisters. A combined inquisition/sisters/greyknights/deathwatch codex is a failure waiting to happen.

Actually, sadly, I don' think one is coming.

Inquisitors will be in CODEX: GREY KNIGHTS and CODEX: SISTERS, but they won't be getting their own book.

And their roles, from what we've heard so far, will be greatly reduced, along with their variety and character...

This.

Also, next 40k codex is Necron, coming around January.
It also has 2 troop choices.

When it comes to Inquisitors being pulled back...
I say good!
Inquisitors aren't leaders of men, barring a few rare exceptions like Eisenhorn or Rex. Look at how badly Lok fumbled the Anphelion operation.

They're hunters of heretics, they're supposed to be the guys lurking in the shadows not standing in power armor on the frontlines waving a sword and yelling while bald.

There will be coming a Codex Grey Knights (including some Inquisition and assassins) and Codex Sororitas (including Ecclesiarchy). But I wouldn't rule out a WD article or small supplement focussing on the Inquisition itself.

Fantastic!

I'm so glad that you're happy!

Meanwhile, many others are... less than thrilled.

And really, having Inquisitors 'requisition' whatever they need to get the job done, well that is an established part of the background too.

I think we'll still be able to do this, I think... I hope!

Just without as much flair and wackiness as before.

And really, CODEX: DAEMONHUNTERS and WITCH HUNTERS allowed some really cool 'counts as' armies too.

So really, don't be so quick to dump on what a LOT of us will end up missing, OK?

"A lot of us" being you, right?

I certainly don't oppose the Inquisition getting their own codex or even their own supplement with rules for allying, I just don't want my Sisters to be a part of it.

You should be! Happy Kanluwen=fantastic for everyone!

Meanwhile, many others are... less than thrilled.

Of course they are. Not everyone's going to be happy, no matter what's done.

And really, having Inquisitors 'requisition' whatever they need to get the job done, well that is an established part of the background too.

Requisitioning an entire regiment isn't the same as actually leading it into combat.
As I said: Inquisitors as "leaders of men" never has made sense to me. They're just not that kind of individuals. Look at how Vraks was set up. Inquisitors were detached from the Conclave, given forces to lead...but those Inquisitors let their forces retain their own leadership and only stepped up whenever there was a threat that your average Guard Captain would welcome an Inquisitor's insight on how to defeat.

I think we'll still be able to do this, I think... I hope!

Do what? Requisition of units? Maybe, but that's why I've said for how long that Inquisitors should have been an Advisor option for Guard armies.

Just without as much flair and wackiness as before.

Again...good. Daemonhunters and Witch Hunters was a codex in an identity crisis. They could field their own forces(not very effectively, mind you, for the most part) or they could(as they were more oftenly) be used to plug holes in Guard armies and get rid of their weaknesses.

And really, CODEX: DAEMONHUNTERS and WITCH HUNTERS allowed some really cool 'counts as' armies too.

So does pretty much every codex...

So really, don't be so quick to dump on what a LOT of us will end up missing, OK?

Please, read more into my comment than I put into it.
Less focus on the Inquisitors=good. They're not combat monsters. They're sneaky, devious individuals who are better suited to advisory roles for the most part.
Are there Inquisitors who are combat monsters? Sure, of course there are. An organization as big as the Inquisition you're bound to get some outliers like that.

I mean, think of it like this. Is every single Imperial Guard Commander going to be a Creed who employs tactics to an incredible extent?
No. You're going to have a few Creeds or Al'Rahems, but most of them are going to be Chenkovs.
