Well i wanted to know, Did you like TES:III Morrowind? Me personally i think this is one of the most perfect games of all time. I know some of you are thinking "Well they came out with oblivion it has better graphics why not play that?". Well personally, it just didnt do it for me i LOVE Morrowind the world is HUGE there are a crap ton of weapons, armor, Items, quests, and just a lot of re playability. I played oblivion beat it and was like huh what now? I went on to doing the side quests, but for some reason i just didn't like it, i do play it every now and then , But there's something about the Hard RPG features Morrowind had to offer that made me love it. And that this game has a lot more to offer from quests, and just overall items and do not take graphics into factor at all, Remember "Game play trumps graphics, any day, any time" - Me lol. so tell me what are your thoughts about this game, Thanks.

I loved it for sure but looking back it also iunfuriated me. Bows didnt work at all, point blank into their fae would miss. heck every shot would miss ! Other weapons didnt hit much either. Spells we're your best bet.

Other than that I loved that game, it had the best armour, best creature concepts like the argonians and cats having different legs and such. and the expansions just made i better !

I would say I like Oblivion more, but Obliv took out my Levitation spells.

Well I've only played Morrowwind and Oblivion so far in the series, I'm not 100% which I liked best, but I can say without doubt Morrowwind got more playtime from me.

I loved it, but it took a long while to grow on me.

It is not a very forgiving game.
If you get lost, cope.
If you forgot the way to end your quest, cope.
If you wander into an area scoped beyond your level, cope.
If you mis-interpret the instructions, cope.

It does not have the hand holding available in many other games.
It does not have the 100% spot-on mini-maps in many other games.
It does not cater to players who wander into dangerous areas as is done in many other games.
It does not assume you are as idiot and mark your worldmap to irrefutably remind you of the point your nebulous goal may be (is).

I LOVED Morrowind. Like some others, after finishing the main quest (and expansions) I made a massive collection display in one of the manor's. the name of the town escapes me, but there is a Khajit who sells demon weapons, and Fort Moonmoth is real close to it.
Just looked it up, Balmora.

I loved the game, great story and art direction and it came out when the market was glutted with linear RPGs.

I actually built myself a quest in Morroriwind that is annoying to this day.

I took a suit of armor that gave +110% chance to avoid damage (iirc) and hid it in random dungeons,
4+ years ago.

Still have not found them all.

Oblivion I got to add cats to the towns, and rebalance the game.
Awesome.

Morrowind is my favourite of the Elder Scrolls series, the game is massive and just so intimidating to begin with, but get into it and really succumb to the world itself and you will lose days in that game. I recommend looking up mods for the game because there is some cracking ones out there that will update the graphics and also remove some of the more annoying game design decisions that make it a frustrating experience.

I lost over a year of my life to Morrowind. It was so vast, and so much to do and it was so emersive(sp? my checker is failing me all a sudden lol) It was just fantastic. It took me over a month to finally get around to wanting to do the main quest. Even after that, there is so much stuff in that game, that you just stumble upon things all the time.

Oblivion was ok. It improved on the fighting by alot, but took away WAY more then alot. Sure its a pretty game, but thats really all it had going for it, and the combat. I sure did enjoy being able to punch things to death.
Took forEVER to do that in Morrowind

Lol i remember the only problem with Morrowind is that it was real easy to piss off certain guilds and never be forgiven, i never got to play any of the Redoran Quests because i stole so much stuff from them. I actually did okay as a fighter, if i couldnt beat someone i merely waited outside the 'loading door' and then rested then went back for another round with the horde of monsters that had amassed at the doorway. Oh so silly and unrealistic, but very satisfying. Those bloomin cliff racers though, there i am Walking through the sky with my custom 'Soiled trousers of Flight' and i hear that horrible 'Riberill!' noise. And for the last boss i remember i summoned my eight golden saints and destroyed the heart thing at around 1 frame a minute while Dagoth Ur nailed them. Actually i did love cloning stuff in Obliv... Twenty bear belts you say? Coming right up!

That's not true. Oblivion made me happy.

I didn't mind morrowind, but my initial playing was a bit of a letdown after being so used to the complete and utter freedom of Daggerfall. And the changes they made to the Khajiit.

Of the two I've played - Morrowind and Oblivion - Morrowind was definitely the superior in my opinion. It felt a lot more like being thrown in at the deep end and figuring out the world for yourself. Combined with the number of times I would set off, determined to finish a quest before being waylaid by randomly discovered secret dungeons and ending half way across the map on some other task, made it a far more engrossing experience than its follow-up.

For me, Oblivion was a let down. Sure the fighting was improved, but the way the enemies level up with you meant that by the endgame, when you're tooled up with the fanciest weapons and armour it would take ten minutes to beat down the enemies it was easier to beat 50 hours ago.

Plus I never could shake the impression that Oblivion was just so unbearably hollow as a world, after I completed the game I had to consult a guide to see where all the content was and discovered I'd only missed about three dungeons with any semi-worthwhile substance. I've still not completed half the quests in Morrowind in comparison.

All of that said I've frequently heard the games before Morrowind were also much better, I've just yet to have the chance to try them and compare.

I played both Morrowind and Oblivion, and Morrowind was easily my favorite. The setting was simply so unique and unusual, from the weird mushroom homes of the Telvanni to chasm that went to the Red Mountain lined with Dwemer ruins. With a few texture upgrades it's still pretty compelling, especially when nightfall comes and the twin moons come into view.

And how can you not like a wizard falling out of the sky?

Heh, there was a period of about a week and a half where my xbox was never turned off with Morrowind running. In the morning my roommate would be playing as I left for work. When I came home, a friend of ours would have come over after school and would have taken over while my roomate passed out. After I had a chance to shower, eat, and decompress, I'd take over while our friend went home. I'd play till 2-3 in the morning, when my roomate would pick it back up when I crashed out. We just repeated the cycle over and over till we had knocked through every possible bit of the game

I never got into Morrowind. It was the first Elder Scrolls game I played on a console and using a controller just didn't feel natural. I loved the idea of it but it never really grabbed me at the time.

well if you do have some time and some money lol, please give this great game a try on the PC. On the PC it has clearer graphics, there are mods, and lets not forget the mouse and keyboard just seems right for this game.

Yeah, why would you play this game without mods? That's like two thirds the fun of it.

Well i mean if you get the game on the pc you should try it without mods at first or get some realism mods or graphic mods, but other than that try it without mods at first. But ill agree mods do make it more enjoyable.

My favorite game of all time.

As for mods I always install a ton but eventually they all feel like they break the atmosphere.

For me any moddable games go like this:
Play vanilla>play with mods> go back to vanilla.

Maybe I'll up the resolution on some textures but thats like it.

Ya that's what im saying, i only get Texture/ sky mods, and maybe a few others that tweak only the games visuals not any islands and such.

Ive had a LOT of fun with the construction set. Ive made arrows out of every weapon I could in the game. My fav was making them from spears though, looked like I was shooting bastilla bolts at the bad guys. One day I got bored and wanted to see just how BIG an explosion spell I could make before my PC crashed. It got pretty ridiculous before my PC gave out. All I remember was I set it off on the side of a wall in balmora, and after a laggy few seconds the Ordinators wanted my head in Vivec, and then poof. Same with speed and jumping. Id jump so damn high I got bored of wainting to fall down. I ran so fast once my character just kindda blew up into a bunch of pieces, and then crashed

But I had more fun on the xbox though, simply because you have to be creative in how you broke the game. I had an Ork that was on his 1000th day of corprus before I cured him. It was great holding a bajillion pounds of stuff, but I couldnt use a weapon anymore, because Id break the damn thing in 1 use. Thats when I tried punching things to death, but that just sucked in Morrowind
