I'm a massive fan of the original movie and i was wondering what do people think of its sequel? as I've seen some pretty awful reviews , the worst was a one start given to it by the daily mirror , although the writer seemed to hate the original.
So what do people think.

Saw it yesterday.
If you are looking for a meaningful tale of the relationship between humans and the internet age, the evolution of the tech society and similar crap that the critics were waiting for (according to most critics) skip it.
If you want to see a visual spectacle with a very simple script, I cannot but recommend it.

Really? That's asking a lot from Tron. Especially when you consider the first film's shortcomings, still kinda like it though

have to see it. i will like it better if it is just a cheesy effectsy feature with a loosely abstract plot involving the mystery of what really goes on in your computer/video game/technology age as imagined by the mind of a 70 yr old first timer trying to figure out windows. I wouldn't mind the origional one redone with actual computer graphics instead of blacklights and spandex, since now they actually can... I wonder why nobody thought of that. I plan on being disappointed and wanting to run home to see the origional for the billionth time just to preserve my eternal childhood, but still I have to see it.

I watched it last night in 3D. If I had one word to describe it, I would use "Interesting". There was a bit of Matrix in there, a bit of star wars, and quite a bit of the old Tron archetype. I thought the script was pretty good, the acting was good as well. I just wasn't "blown away", but I was entertained.
Overall, I give it a B.

I loved the original. So Im hoping when I do watch it (Im a DVD guy, so itll be awhile) I dont want to kill myself
And yea, Micheal Bay ruined Transformers. Seriously that last one, I couldnt even tell who the hell was fighting who. And SUDDENLY MegaTron realized that Optimus Prime was........ a PRIME?!!

The new transformers could e decent but it's far to soon to tell , but as i (perhaps stupidly) before approach it with an open mind.
Back on the subject of tron i can see what people mean , it's a sadly modern tron.

I think people are too darn picky these days when it comes to movies. I watched Dreamcatcher last night (which had super, dooper terrible reviews) and I actually liked it as a one off watch.
I dislike movie reviewers. Im my own reviewer.
In regards to TRON 2 though, Im yet to see it. Stupid 3D only movies are on and I won't watch anything in 3D. Gives me a headache.

The secret is to find 1 or 2 critics that seem to like and dislike the same movies you do. Even then, it's still not 100% accurate.

Bang bang pew pew cool visuals & sound track. Go to it for the same reasons you go to action movies: the spectacle, the visuals, the, well, action. This is no Inception. Don't except a revolutionary plot that makes you think before you go to bed.

The 3D was actually done pretty well. It was a fair bit more subtle than most of the 3D movies lately and all the scenes in the real world were in 2D anyway.

I finally managed to see it on Wednesday after trying to get my mates together to see it for ages. I found it to be a great movie, sure its plot could do with a bit of work, but the eightiesness of it was a win for me-if it doesn't work just hit it a few times till it does. The soundtrack was win for me too (as was Daft Punk's cameo). They used 3d pretty well compared to the other films this year, no constant stuff in your face, all they did was use it for perspective. Though I would've liked to see more of the classic bike in use and if Tron's death wasn't shoved to the side so quickly-he definately should have had more screen time as "Tron". The ending was at least a score for me, "have you tried turning it off then on again", but a shame that the people that I went to see it didn't get it.¬¬

I think people need to rewatch Tron and really think about what it is, a cheesy action movie that used a lot of computer cliches to give it a theme.
So long as this one looks cool and keeps me entertained for an hour and a half I'll be happy.

I was going to take the boys to go and see it, but the local cinema is only showing the 3D version.
Not happy paying 3D prices, and buying glasses, and on top of that, we're not sure Aurelia can watcha 3D film yet as typically in the past they've given her a headache.
Seems an expensive test, so we decided to pass. It does look good mind, and all actiony with little plot would have been pefect for the boys. Shame really.
