Here is a simple and easy way to remove paint from a plastic model....
1. dampen model with tap water. (yes, simple tap water)
2. Place plastic model in Microwave
3. Set Microwave for 30min on High Power, Start
4. Go do something else for 30min, dont bother watching, there's nothing to see. You'll just get bored.
5. After 30 minutes your model will have shed all the paint off as the microwave will have caused all paint to flake off of the dampened model. This will leave you with a paint free plastic tank ready to go.
Hope this helps.

Does microwave type/model/power make any difference?
"High power" kind scares me.

I doubt it would cause a problem but seeing as metallic paint contains metal particals could this be affected in anyway, because, of course, metal shouldn't be put in a microwave.

So while it apparently works, why did you think it a good idea to stick it in the microwave in the first place?

so... am I the only one that does not see an image? All I see is an "image hosted by tripod" thumbnal. Could we see a before and after shot on a regular figure? (should have been more specific... like an infantry figure)

On second thought I have a bridge I would like to sell you.... very cheap. LOL! Yeah, I did have that thought myself. But certain plastics are not effected by microwaves... I mean that's kind of how they work, spinning molecules of certain types and all. So I like to keep an open mind.
