I have three main armies in various stages of modeling and painting. I am mainly in it for the love of modeling and so I don't get very caught up in fluff or rules considerations. I have been inspired by many blogs on Dakka and so now I guess its my turn to share.

My latest completed project started as a "Fisher Price" toy garage. It was also the first time I experimented with rust/corrosion effects

I bought a large collection of Tyranid that included a whole bunch of the old warrior model which I think are completely ridiculous. But when combined with some modern warrior bitz I think they turned out pretty cool.

My sister used to have that garage! You did a great job with it; I didn't recognize it until you pointed that out. Everything else is good as well. The Gretchin are painted nicely.

Got another leg fleshed out last night, hoping to work on the details today.

Really dig the Warrior combo, that turned out damn fine. Also the goblin riding a turtle, 'nuff said.

Did a little work on the face, added some eyeballs. I plan on casting this guy so I may make the teeth as a separate pieces.

I would say leave the pupils for painting, sculpted on it looks odd.

And I'm am always a fan of BLKOrk conversion. Great stuff so far cant wait for more.

Yay! I love your conversion of the garage. I personally have used one of their old white castle things for a Fantasy castle (Pics in my gallery when I get home tonight), but no-one in my local club wants to use it because they can't be bothered to figure out rules for it

I have to say you've done a great job on the weathering effects, especially with the rusted corrugated metal and elevator, and I especially like the little posters on the support columns!

Now I'm tempted to find one of their old McDonalds restaraunts and make a wrecked drive-thru, with tank traps in the drive-thru-lane

Here is a little side project I have been working on. I got some trees from the model train shop and put them on cheap craft store magnets. The plan is to put the metal sheet under my battle mat and arrange the forest however I want. It works pretty well. I hindsight I should have used small rare earth magnets so they wouldn't be so obvious. I had some ordered but that fell through... I still have 23 tree armatures so once I get my magnets from K&J I will finish it off.
They are pretty fun to put together you can twist and bend the armature into what ever shape you want. I painted them with some bulk brown and then spots of Bleached bone and small dabs of camo green.

Also I picked this up at a garage sale for 25 cents, it was a boring glossy brown color so I put 3 shades of grey on it. Thinking about plugging the hole on top with magnets for some kind of turret or comm tower.


And finally I picked these babies up for 3 dollars!!! Its the really old version with crappy terminators but the genestealers are pretty decent and none of them are assembled or painted!!! Its a pretty complete set from what I can tell. I figure I will paint up the terminators as corroded copper statues for a terrain piece..

For my next terrain conversion I picked up some hirst-arts molds. If you have never heard of them I highly recommend them. https://www.hirstarts.com/

The Blue molds are from the SCI-FI section of Hirst-Arts. The others I made with Smooth-On products.


After quickly casting them a few times I have a huge selection of parts. Note the first couple cast came out with some bubbles but after a few casts they improved. I am using cheap plaster for this project mainly because I cant find "Dental Stone" in my area. I have resin but I reserve that for miniatures and stuff..




When I picked up the FP garage I also got the airport for 2 bucks.

That´s some really amazing terrain pieces! I think I should start looking at some of the local garage sales myself. Fisher Price seems to fit the 40k scale pretty good. Nice Work!

Started working on a fallen manufactorum tower. I cut it in three pieces and glued it down to some wood. I filled the inside with plaster to add some strength to the fallen parts.

Did a bit more work on my squig sculpt. I need to redo the feet, I have new claws made already. I also plan to fill in the pupils of the eyes.

Nice finds. I always tell myself that I'm gonna go garage saleing but never do.
