It's certainly in keeping with the look of those stinkin' elves, I'll give it that.

Unfortunately, that means it looks downright fugly.

Why didn't they do the decent thing, and add Rhul instead of Retribution as a faction?

Honestly it looks pretty okay. Much better than the khador one.

I will have to completely disagree. Not saying the Khador one is good, but this thing is terrible.

I have mixed feelings about the Retribution.

I love their troops, especially the Archers and MittenMages, but I hate their Jacks.

I'm not sure how to feel about this thing. It looks like something out of Evangelion or Blue Seed. I don't know if that's good or bad.

And once again it is a sculpt worth a thousand facepalms too.

Not sure where Privateer is going lately. First that Khador nonsense with two horses pulling a tank which they expect people to pay $85,- for, and now this...

Good luck carrying these lumps of metal around

Good job they're resin rather than metal, then, TBD. I prefer the Gun Carriage to this, but I've already vowed not to buy one until the Mercs get one, regardless of contract.

If it's resin it would be manageable, but it makes the price even worse. Seriously PP?

The Khador one doesn't necessarily look that bad, but it's one of the most rediculous designs I've ever seen. How are two horses supposed to pull that uphill, given how heavy those contraptions are (especially Khador ones)? How is it going to brake when going downhill? How does it steer? And if it can get up and down by itself why does it need the horses? Either way it makes no sense.

I'm sure they instructed Dougseacat (who is a very nice fellow) to come up with some blabla story about how it really does all work, but come on

I seriously can't look at it without thinking grasshopper / tyranid warrior head. with a bit of dust mite... or crabs.
Anyways given the choice between Elves "wtf machine" or khadors "improbability carriage" i would choose khador

I'm not sure if this was meant to be a Douglas Adams quote or not, but it really made me laugh. I also imagine that they turned on the Infinite Improbability Carriage and suddenly the two gigantic steam engines that powered this thing became.... horses! I kind of want to model it with a bowl of petunias sitting on top of it.

What do you have against gates? They keep things out. Or in.

I'm liking both models so far. I think they fit with the general themes and aesthetics of both forces. Although the Gun Carrige needs at least a Drakhun horse up front.

I really like the Retribution models...but the color scheme looks like a pain, they are mostly metal and I'm not really interested in learning another gamesystem.

I've been looking into the Warmachine rules, and have found them a breath of fresh air compared to GW's systems. But that's for another thread...

As for this model, I like it; while the Retribution isn't my favorite aesthetic out of the factions, I like that this is so different from the other things I've seen, but still seems thematically to fit in with the model range. I wonder what this would look like in a darker color scheme, it seems to have a lot of very interesting lines.

It is probably too big. The thing looks to be about as tall as a Trygon and fatter than a Carnifex.

Well said!

This model is good news for me, too! If it's any indication of where PP is taking WH/H, my wallet is still safe from them. God help me if they start putting out models to my taste, however.

I play Retribution and plan on passing on that one.
The model is sculpted well and It dose not look out of place in the army aesthetically but what IS it? A retribution rifle is identifiable as a rifle, a myrmidon is identifiable as a big warjack, but I cannot tell what I'm looking at there. It looks like a bits box threw up and fell into a master sculptor's lap.
I really do dig they styling of the components and how well their sculpted but I had a wtf moment when I saw that concept drawing.

I do. Because it is.

It's a well painted model -sculpted with skill- that is aesthetically displeasing. The Retribution line is generally displeasing; this has exceed that prior disappointment by leaps and bounds.

To whit, it is the model all the other models want to be next to, so that they will appear favorable in comparison. Even Nagash thinks that this looks a bit goofy.

It is every single balloon knot in the house of a crazy cat lady, good sir.
