What part of painting your miniatures do you hate doing? That one step, or one technique that just makes you cring, or you put off until you have to do it.

For me, it is having to trace the edges of my purity seals with black. Cause I will always get some black on the white.

Heh too bad this isnt a "What do you hate gluing" because the answer would most certainly be Zoanthropes

Painting... I actually just hate priming really. I hate having to get my hands covered in black primer while i turn my models around. I also hate letting them dry then coming back and noticing I missed a portion because I didn't spray from a specific angle. Drives me bat gak crazy lol

Latex gloves. You can get boxes of 100 at walmart. They work great. I will usually reuse them, so my box lasts forever. You can just slip on the rubber glove, go crazy, then peal it off and you don't get any on you hand.

I hate painting Spess Mehreins... all parts of them. They are boring to paint after your first 10 or so. I've only got 30 of 'em done out of my battle company. I fear I'll never complete them.

Use a very fine sharpie, it looks much better and far cleaner than trying to paint it on.

I have a mega thin brush for it, but trying to do it fast is when it goes wrong

Oh I come from a land, from a faraway space
Where the caravan shuttles roam

And the fights are intense
It's barbaric, but hey, it's home

Ugh, yeah. I can't get highlighting to look right either. It always looks fake, rather than natural.

horns, I can't paint free hand, and horns is specially tough. It bugs me that I can't get them to look like real horn.

Also decapitated heads, specifically the ones that come the the ork boys. I don't use them much, I just don't know how to make necrotic flesh look right, no matter what I've tried.

Everything. I'm an unbelievably slow painter and al I want is to finish the model and get it onto the table as quickly as possible. My perfectionist personality prevents me from doing it quickly and carelessly though.

I hate painting cos I have 40 or so horses sitting on my shelf that I need to paint white from a black undercoat and I don't like that.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Faces, fine detials that you notice only when you finish, painting something not in silver, painting yellow, doing any meduim too advanced or even some basic techniques, trying to paint light colours. Trying to paint well instead of speed.

Basicly I'm just a craptastic painter and can't get anything beyond the basics right.

actually, it's not so much painting I hate....but...putting on transfers, they're all fiddly and usually end up turning out not how I want them.

(I would try free hand, but, I'd just ruin everything *sigh*)
