I was thinking of ordering some combi weapons from them, and maybe some other items. Are they worth getting?

If not, does anyone else make combi weapons?

I don't know of anyone who makes combi-weapons but them.

Inb4 slew of posts disagreeing on quality.

I have ordered from Chapterhouse, but only Tyranid items.

I have had no problems with quality, everything looks good and performs well. I am planning on ordering more from them in the near future.

I ordered 10 combi weapon kits from them. The magnets that came with the kit didn't fit into the holes of the main weapon pieces. For 5 bucks a pop, I would have liked this tested before it shipped toe me. Also the weapons were not in scale properly. The melta bits were too small and looked more like flamers. I would not do business with them again over this. 55.00 wasted IMO.

My Alien Spawning Monster conversion kit seems fine.

I haven't built it yet, but it's clearly superior to the similar kit not available from Forge World or GW.

If you want combi weapons there is an outfit in Poland doing them.

Your going to get a ton of 1 sided replies to your question, some people LOVE CH stuff and others HATE CH stuff, me personally I've never had any trouble with there items. From what I've heard there quality seems to vary on when they started selling the item, IE some of there original stuff isn't the greatest while there newer stuff is pretty good.

But like I said, I've never had any problems with them and Nick is generally pretty good at resolving any problems you have provided you contact them, least that's what I've been told by others who have had issues

I can't believe they actually charge money for this.

I love their shoulder pads, though I did have a bit of trouble getting the magnets into the combi guns, once done they work flawlessly. Honestly I put less work into the combi meltas than I have put into any FW model.

Once again their shoulder-pads (and I got the howling griffon ones) are rocking.

You should do the research and find the story behind those bits. It might shed some light on the subject for you.

All right, enlighten me. What deep, dark history do those heads have that provide explanation for why Chapterhouse is asking money for pieces where none of the eyes even manage to line up.

I have a HUGE amount of Chapterhouse Pads, and Rhino conversion kits.

I like them a lot, although there were some minor issues getting the Rhino Doors to line up.. but literally less than a minute of work to get right.

In terms of shoulderpad quality, I have NO complaints, and look forward to each new pad they make.

I kinda wish I was planning a new SM army to get on board with their Salamander stuff.. which someone local to me has and it looks stunning on the table.

I think the real problem here is not that they are terrible (they're poor, but so are nearly every other female headswap in the entire hobby) but that their other stuff is so good, they really stand out. There is a real dichotomy there.

Nick over at CH normally drills out each indivdual bit. If they didn't fit I'd suggest you either send it back and have drill them out, or drill them out yourself. As far as the scale, they're not intended to be super bulky and oversized like GW's combi-weapons; they're meant to look like they're one-shot weapons.

I bought several of the combi-weapons they went together perfectly. They're great for my Sternguard and my chaos marines.

I have chapterhouse pads, pre-heresy jump packs, conversion kits for vehicles and miscellaneous bits. I have always found the quality to be excellent.

I have some of the combi-weapons but to this point have only scavenged the parts off of them. The melta muzzles are a bit down-scale when compared with a normal melta... but these are supposed to be on-shot add-ons, so I'd think a full sized melta attachment would look odd. Maybe I'll try putting one of the guns together in it's entirety and see how it works. I can report back to the thread if anyone's interested.

It might. I'm not sure why you would think anyone would want to do so, though. When you're browsing a webstore and you come across an item that you think is poor, do you immediately jump on google and try to find out why it's bad? I certainly don't.

Frankly, I thought it was a bizarre decision on Chapterhouse's part to release those heads. For the small number of people who would actually buy them, having them sitting in the webstore is more likely to hurt sales as people will use them as an indicator of what CH think is acceptable quality. The fact that CH realise that they're bad and chose to sell them anyway doesn't mitigate that in any way... just the opposite, in fact.

I purchased one of the first Farseer on Jetbikes they released (serious of pics in my pics) and was rather happy. There was some pieces like the female torso that took a little bit of coaxing to work and the thin weapons warp easily due to resin... but overall a thumbs up. For their products being something you can't find anywhere else it's either purchase them or convert them yourself.

I couldn't care less what the story is behind them, so don't expect to waste my time trying to dig it up. I discovered those heads when looking for 28mm sci-fi heads for a conversion, and one look told me everything I needed to know about them. It doesn't matter if the master models were made from crystal tears of the last of the renaissance master modelers desperately trying to raise enough money to save his only daughter from being sold off to centauri slave mastesr - they still look awful.

The difference, though, is that we're not browsing a webstore. We're discussing mandolly accessories on a gaming forum. We are well aware that there's a bigger picture with Chapterhouse.

If you give a rip about the pieces, you can do your own research. Thus the "You" in "You should do the research." If *I* was going to enlighten you, I'd have said something more along the lines of "Ask, and I'll tell you the story behind those bits."
Judging from your most recent comment, though, the story won't matter to you, which makes me that much less inclined to waste my time telling it.

Hi guys (and the random female),

To make a correction on someones post, we do not drill out each hole on the combi-weapons. I did drill out the masters, and they worked great.

I even have some of the cast in my personal army and the magnets fit well.

There is minute differences in every cast, not to mention the magnets as well. While each magnet is suppose to be 1/16 inch wide, and each hole is 1/16th wide, there are sometimes small differences in the cast or the magnets.

We did our best to make room for error on the holes, we had no control on the magnets sizes.

I will say if you take a 1/16th bit and just redrill the hole a couple of twist, that will help a lot. (I know not everyone has a 1/16th bit)

Saying that, if you do have issues, email me, please dont let it stew in your mind and make you angry. I am always happy to help provided you just contact us.

As for the female heads, well we cant all hit .400 and yes they do sell more often then you think.
