We all look in our Codex every once in a while and say "I wish something like this were in this book." Well here's your chance to tell us what you would add to your Codex.

Rules:
- Can't be a reworking of a unit that already exists. Yes, we all want cheaper Carnifexes. Yes we all want C'tan with Eternal Warrior. That's not what this thread is for.
- You must provide a comprehensive overview of what you would want. Don't say "I want Iron Warriors." Write it like you're writing a Codex entry. Give a statline, wargear, special rules, upgrades, where it is in the FOC, point costs.
- It must be something that could theoretically exist in the 40k universe and would fit in the Codex you are adding it to. Don't say "I want Darth Vader in my CSM codex." Likewise, don't say you want some Daemons in your Eldar codex.
- Don't make something over-the-top. We all make mistakes and there will likely be some entries with overpowered statlines or be overcosted. But don't be silly. No straight-10 statlines, no "can't be killed except by [ ]" rules, and nothing that you know clearly would make this unit invincible.

Tyranid Monstrosity- 50 points
WS:4 BS:3 S:4 T:4 W:3 I:4 A:3 Ld:10 Sv:4+

Composition: 1

Unit Type: Infantry

Weapons and Biomorphs:
- Hardened Carapace
- Scything Talons (two sets)

Special Rules:
- Instinctive Behavior - Feed
- Fearless

Options:
May change its unit type to:
- Jump Infantry....5 points
- Beasts....10 points
- Monstrous Creature....20 points

Must take up to 60 points of the following statline upgrades:*
- +1 WS....15 points
- +1 BS....15 points
- +1 S....10 points
- +1 T....10 points
- +1 W....15 points
- +1 I....10 points
*Note that you may only take each upgrade twice. For example, you could only upgrade up to +2 WS, after which you would have to spend the remaining 20 points on another skill should you so choose.

May replace Instinctive Behavior - Feed with:
- Instinctive Behavior - Lurk....Free
- Synapse Creature....30 points*
*Any Tyranid Monstrosity who takes the Synapse Creature special rule must select one Psychic Power.

May select two of the following special rules:
- Infiltrate....15 points
- Fleet....10 points
- Furious Charge....10 points
- Hit & Run....10 points

May Replace any pair of Scything Talons with one of the following:
- Barbed Strangler....15 points
- Venom Cannon....20 points
- Stranglethorn Cannon*....20 points
- Heavy Venom Cannon*....25 points
- Deathspitter....10 points
- Fleshborer....Free
- Rending Claws....15 points
- Devourer....5 points
- Brainleech Worms*....15 points
- Lash Whip & Bonesword....20 points
- Two Boneswords....25 points

I always wanted to see a kind of "make your own Tyranid" type-thing in the Tyranid codex. It always seemed fluffy to me. So what else does the Dakka community want to see in their codex?

Your Tyranid Monstrosity seems to be a weaker version of the 4th edition Carnifex with some options added that it never had (like wings and synapse upgrades). The 4th ed Carnifex was basically a 'build-your-own-Carnifex', complete with head, carapace and tail upgrades.

I hate Cruddace so much.

Deranged Necron Destroyer

Necron Sarcophagus- Vehicle BS:4 F:12 S:12 R:12 Points-65

Can be taken with a group of Necron Warriors numbering at 10 or more and has a transport capacity of 20. Comes equipped with a single turret mounted Guass Blaster. Has the Special Necron rule Living Metal and has Access Points along the front and sides. There are no Fire Points, however, but units need to only be within a 12" range to embark upon the Sarcophagus, they disembark as normal. The Sarcophagus can move a full 12 inches and fire 1 weapon but at half range, it can move 6" and still fire 1 weapon at full range however.

Can take a single turret mounted Guass Cannon for 25 pts.
Can upgrade the Guass Blaster to a Heavy Guass cannon for 35 pts.

Gives Necrons a transport that is relatively resilient and can be made decent for a cost.

Salamander's been around from FW for a while but no. Salis don't have transport and I'm thinking of a wheeled vehicle like a modern Hum-V.

I think I'd want to add to Codex: Chaos Space Marines:

For every unit of Summoned Lesser Daemons, the Chaos Space Marine player may select one unit of Summoned Daemonic Beasts. Daemonic Beasts are Fast Attack units, though like other Summoned Daemons they don't count towards the Chaos Space Marine force organization chart.

Shas'vre - +10 points - WS4, BS 3, S 5, T 4, W 2, I 4, A 3, Ld 8, Sv 4+

A team consists of 1-3 battlesuits.

Jump Infantry

Equipment: Each team member is equipped with the XV 82 'Thunderstorm suit' and can take three battlesuit weapons systems or support systems.

The team members have access to all assault type weapons in the Battlesuit armoury and all normal support systems. In addition, they have access to an additional close combat weapon for +10 points, they can take Vectored Retro Thrusters regardless of whether they are a shas'vre or whether it has already been taken. A Shas'vre can take the Compact Ion Rifle for +20 points with the following profile:

Range - 12" Strength - 6, AP *, Assault 3

*The AP is 4 at 12" and 3 at 6".

Special Rules: Their battlesuits grant them Acute Senses, Deep Strike and the Fleet special rules.

Yes, it's my bash at a Close Combat suit. The intention is that the suit is smaller and more slender therefore has less armour but does allow for more movement through fleet. The strategy is to charge in then use Hit and Run to get out of combat quickly and avoid damage. In an actual codex there would be more support systems for them such as increased Initiative or something.

D.O.G-Major Wainscott is a member of the Deepspace Operations Group, a commando unit so elite it only has 4 members. This rules gives him the USR Scout, Stealth and allows him to deepstrike.

Death and Elevenses-Wainscott is a Praetorian by birth but also a fearless warrior of the Emperor. He is often torn between his duty as a Praetorian and his duty towards the Emperor. Each turn roll a D6 n a roll of 4+ the player controls Wainscott as normal on a 3 or less he counts as being pinned.

Tea drinker-Years of drinking the strong Praetorian brew have given Wainscott the toughness of a bull rhinoid. Wainscott has Eternal Warrior.

Wargear
Sten pattern autogun
S 3 AP6 Range 18" Assault 4
Whatever comes to hand-Wainscott is a peerless improviser managing to use almost anything as an effective weapon he counts as being armed with a power weapon, each time he assaults or is assaulted roll a D6 on this chart
1-Nothing but fruit- minus 1 to Wainscott's strength
2-Kitkat!-Wainscott gains rending for the rest of the assault phase
3-Brick-Add 1 to Wainscott's strength
4-Enemy weapon-Roll D6 and use the result for Wainscott's number of attacks, if a 1 is rolled Wainscott has failed to figure out the operations of the enemy weapon and it has exploded, Wainscott loses a wound and can make no attacks this phase.
5-Ahh my sword-Wainscott's I and WS are increased to 5
6-You won't take me back!-Wainscott has found a weapon more deadly than anything he could create on his own, double Wainscott's strength for the rest of the assault phase.

For the guard codex...

If I were add something to the Chaos Codex I’d definitely want to add a Chaos Retinue/Honour Guard style unit.

Chaos Retinue
For every HQ in the army, the player may purchase a Chaos Retinue. The HQ + Retinue count as a single HQ choice and a single unit (i.e. HQ may not leave the squad as per 40k retinue rules). The retinue a HQ has access to is dependent on the HQ’s mark

None = Chosen
Tzeentch = Thousand Sons
Slaanesh = Noise Marines
Khorne = Berserkers
Nurgle = Plague Marines
Terminator Armour = Terminators

Special Rules
• Fearless
• Any model may purchase wargear only available to the unit aspiring champion.

My army is daemons, and if there's one thing they struggle with, it's AV14. No melta/lance/high strength ranged weapons hurts them, so we have to rely on lucky Bolt of Tzeentch hits, or a Bloodthirster smacking a Land Raider that stayed stationary. There is no daemon in fluff that isn't already included in the codex, so a new one has to be created. Hence, I present something to help fix that:

Tzeentch Warpformer

Hunched and lumbering, these abominations were once Lords of Change who fell out of favour with their God. Cursed to be mutated beyond recognition, Warpformers are the lowest of Tzeentch's minions, hated by their former brethren and viewed as little more than tools. Victim of curiosity and lust for power, they dabbled in arts they could not master, and paid the price. Now they shuffle around the battlefield, herded by attendant Horrors, unleashing blasts of raw warp energy where directed, hoping that they might one day earn the forgiveness of Tzeentch and be re-granted their true form. Alas, Tzeentch is not quick to forgive...

Warprender: The primary feature in an otherwise unknowing mass of mutation, is the Warprender. Sometimes in the form of a focus, unleashing arcs of bale lightning, sometimes as a massive cannon firing balls of blue flame, and possibly something else alien to human eyes, the Warprender can fire once per turn with either of the following two profiles:

R60" S10 AP1 Assault 1 Lance
R18" S8 AP2 Assault 3 Melta

Mutated Form: The mutated form of the Warpformer is covered in a diverse range of limbs and weapons. In close combat it has a random number of attacks, rolled each round of combat.

Attendant Horrors: A selection of Tzeentch's Horrors who have displeased him in a minor way are given the task of pointing the Warpformer in the correct direction. They can fire in the shooting phase at a different target to the Warpformer with the following profile at BS3:

Range: 18" S4 AP4 Assault 15

In close combat the Horrors hide behind the Warpformer and serve no role. The Horrors cannot be targeted or killed independently of the Warpformer, but will flee to the Warp should the Warpformer be slain.

Intolerable Beauty - The Teller of Lies always appears to be the most atrociously beautiful and desirable creature to the eyes of all who see it. All units, including vehicles, that are in Line of Sight and within 24" of the Teller must make a LD test at the beginning of their movement phase. If they fail, they must move their maximum distance towards the Teller, including running, without shooting. Vehicles use LD of 10. For every wound that the Teller has suffered, enemy units count their LD as +1, as the Tellers baeuty is marred by great bloody holes in it.
