Why dont the Mexicans like the British?!

I mean, I would have thought maybe the French, Australians...er.. Muslim nations thanks to all the wars recently.

But Mexico?! Whys that?

This is discussing Mexcian preferences. They do not eat crappy corndogs. They have fajitas and floutas and tequila Oh My!!!

It probably goes back to Mexico being an Spanish colony and the US being primarily British. Old grudges and all that.

Thats in California though, If Americanised Mexican food is anything like British Chinese and Indian food, im willing to wager its far far better than actual Mexican food!

I like England until I started posting on this forum. Now I love it! I think the reason the Mexicans don't like England is because America is a British colony and they would most likely own the entire southwestern united states if it hadn't been for a certain nation's Manifest Destiny.

If it hadnt been for a certain nation being predominantly of British descent and therefore not a bunch of woofters!

Jeremy Clarkson is responsible for our low standing among Mexicans.

Its not like we're brainwashing the mexican population to not like you guys so we can have them invade you by proxy though, I can guarantee you that.

That page is proof (if proof were needed) that it is always a mistake to read the bottom half of the internet. What is it about comment boxes that makes people just spazz out and post hateful rants? There's one guy who says he wishes the Germans had won the war because there are too many immigrants living on handouts here in the UK!

I'll agree with it. I absolutely enjoyed my visit to England and Wales in 2008, despite the freaking 1.8:1 currency exchange at the time. *grumble, grumble*

The people there were very friendly, driving on the wrong side of the road was confusing as hell, and the sites were wonderful. The British museum was fantastic. I want to go see Scotland and Ireland for my next major trip.

My friend lived in Reading for 3 years as part of a start-up project he was working on and he has nothing but nice things to say about the place. Except the occassional chav and the tiny cars.

Yeah, all the Germans I've met have been absolutely smashing volk. Same goes for Americans, fwiw. And kiwis.

But (afrikaner) South Africans? Not really a fan. What is their deal? Macho much?

I still have no idea why Mexico would have a negative opinion of the UK, though. Odd.

Thinking about it, Mexico is one of the relatively few countries that the UK has never really had much to do with.

So if you guys weren't popular with mexicans before, i can only imagine how they feel about you now.

The germans tend to be nice folks, but my friend in the air force clinics says that he has yet to see a single airman come back from Germany without an STD. That may have something to do with their popularity.

I had a Spanish teacher who was german, he was sorry for the whole genocide thing they did despite the fact that his mother was gassed for a mental illness. The war really did something to their mentality.

I went to Germany in Year 7 (so about 6 years ago); two Germans smiled, the hotel manager (one of the staff there looked like a vampire; she never smiled, had the palest skin i've seen, never seemed to blink...) and an ice cream salesman, though they probably only did it because of the income they were getting.

Apart from that, nobody laughed, smiled, grinned, chortled, chuckled, guffawed... It was like talking to a brick wall.
