Every where i look i see no Tau players, just like how i never saw any DE players. So im just curious how many people have Tau armys, that they play, or are looking to trade.

Well at least someone does lol. every game store ive gone to and asked if anyone played Tau or DE. ive gotten laughed at.

The only reason i ask about these 2 armys is because they were, might still be. the army with the lowest number of players

I've only played my tau three times in my life. However I do own a 1500 point army of them. I've also never lost with them in those three times I've played (The Greater Good Blessed my Hammerheads).

I rarely play my Tau. Maybe 3-4 games since the book originally came out.

I have a Tau army underneath my bed, and there it will stay until the get a new codex. Playing Tau against current codices a great tactical victory is a draw.

Hi! Tau player phoning in. One of the "crazy" ones to boot (I dont rely on any alien aux). Generally games end in a draw or a loss, but when you win it's usually on turn 2, after annihilating the opponent's forces down to a single rhino with no weapons that cant move. There are a lot of issues with the codex, mostly in the near total lack of CC defense. But I for one support another person playing wh40k on ''hard mode''.

Well good to hear that your still fighting, even with a choppy codex, idk ive always prefered shooting more than assaulting, but ive been playing Nids ever since i started, i wasnt GREAT but wasnt terrible.

Just didnt feel right to me, And even though i say i prefer more shooting, im starting a SW army from the ground up. starting with AOBR marines. and everything about them ive read is more towards assault.

You be no crazy. I run Non-aux tau (even though the previous owner gave me a generous amount of Kroot). Mont'ka style (based on the DoW DC tech tree) is extremely fun to play, especially since your opponents will often be screaming "you get HOW many shots!? At WHAT strength!?"

I play Tau, which also holds my current best W/D/L score of 7/2/2 (it was originally 7/0/0 but an almost identical Tau list gave me my first draw in an objectives game (would've won if it had been KPs, but only because the only difference, a unit of kroot, was wiped out by a tank shock after they outflanked and failed to damage my hammerhead in a charge, leading them to fleeing 4" off the board edge about 3" away) and a Necrons army gave me my first loss)

(Because killing 13 Necron warriors out of 40 (2 squads of 20) and having their res orb lord come back every time he was killed and assault your broadsides isn't fun. He had 5 KPs, I had about 10, and I ended up scoring 1 KP after killing the lord in the final turn. In my defence, he set-up first right on the middle line and kept me pinned at my board-edge - There was nothing I could do outside of trying to focus-fire his warriors to force a phase out)

My other armies... well:

Chaos - Dunno - Never took scores, probably around 8/3/10; I know i've lost more than i've won.

Lizardmen - Approximately 0/0/7 - My Slann likes to blow himself up at the worst times, and i've never won a game due to terrible rolling when needed (I can dominate the first turn or two, but when it comes to crucial rolls... You'd expect 15 Saurus Warriors with spears to eat 30 Clanrats for breakfast in 7th ed, what with my saurus getting 40 WS3 S4 attacks after the rats charge... I even got a re-roll 1s spell off on my unit just in case... The amount of 2s and 3s when rolling to hit and 2s when rolling to wound was astonishing; not a single 1 in sight whenever I rolled, and about 1-2 dead rats per combat phase...)

WoC - 1/0/0

My Tau, however, are strange. They cannot shoot for crap, but they are like ninjas in close combat.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Sadly enough as it may sound a secondary reason i made this thread is to see what people have to say about the tau and if anyone wants to part ways with their army XD

i would love to start them from the ground up but i dont have the money. especially since im looking into going to a university. So all i can do is try to trade my DE for a tau force.

I have AOBR space marines and after i get some spare money im going to turn them into wolves.

I grew up around 40k but never actually played untill about 4 months ago, I went out on a whim and decided to buy Tau... I love the play style but I am avoiding playing to much with them until they get a new codex. In hind sight I wish I would have not been impatient and waited for my local store to order some Eldar stuff in. (I guess them having an abundance of Tau stuff should of gave away that no one plays them for a reason. lol)

N'drasi Tau player here.

I've been collecting for a while. I got...
1 Ethereal.
2 Crisis Suit Leaders.
100-110Firewarriors.
30 Kroot.
6 Kroot Hounds.
2 Krootox.
6 Vespid w/Strainleader.
18 Crisis Suits.
3 Sniper Drone Teams
8 Stealthsuits
6 Pathfinders
6 Piranha's
1 Skyray
2 Hammerheads
2 Devilfish
6 Broadsides

My goal is to get enough for a whole Cadre, or maybe larger to represent a N'drasi Tau Commander. I'm a collector of Tau. And if they release any other races connected w/the Tau like the Kroot and Vespid, I'll get those too.

Out of the dozen or so 40K players at our club I've seen at least three play Tau making them one of the most popular armies we see.

I did see a couple of kids playing Tyranids last week, that's the first time I've seen those at the club. I think Orks are the most popular at the moment. Necrons are popular too. Then that's followed by Imperial Guard, Space Marines and Chaos Space Marines. One guy has got some Dark Eldar and I've seen Eldar occasionally.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

Tau was my second army at roughly 3000points, would have been my 1st army had I not started the hobby pre Tau release. At this moment in time they are sat in my boxes gathering dust waiting for me to get to them and mod them as the new LOS rules severely hampered army because of the height I modelled them as, so need to purchase new feet as they break damn too easily when I try to twist them so they can sit on the ground. So once the new codex comes out in how many years I'll get to changing the poses, repair the existing damage and complete my paint scheme's.

3 Tau players at the store I go to. I've played one extensively and he's pretty good. The other I've only played once, but he did okay. Never met the third one, but I've heard he has about a 50/50 win record.

For reference I think we have 4 Tyranid players (including myself), 4 Eldar players, 3 Dark Eldar players, 2 Necron players and 2 Sisters players. Everyone else plays Guard or a variation of Marines.
