i still play Tau regularily. There's actually more Tau players at my FLGS than IG. And the last local tournament had 2 Tau players (out of 18).

My win/loss ratio is about even. I think a lot of people give up on playing Tau because it's pretty hard to win. However, in the current Mech environment, Tau can still hold their own if played well.

I play Tau.

I don't go to my local GW that much but I haven't seen any other Tau players there and when I was talking to the store manager about he battle he said "Wait, you won with Tau?" so I don't think they're that popular.

I've not noticed a lack of people who own tau. Just the amount that play them.

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

This is another huge reason why i want to play them.

When i started playing 40k NOONE played nids, so when i chose my army i picked nids so i would be the only one.

Then the new codex came out and i got rid of my nids. and i picked up DE. noone played DE at all in the store. With the new codex there were now 10 people who played them, just like nids. As soon as the new codex came out, EVERYONE BOUGHT THEM.

As well as Dark Eldar

I play tau! i have a 1000pt force with a 100% win record, but my 3000pt isn't very well balanced, so that only has 60%.

3500 Tau and I'm going to be adding another 1000 worth of auxiliaries for Apocalypse (counts as units from other codices). I've played Tau since they came out and I play them fairly regularly.

I have Tau, I love them. But they sit on the shelf until their rules get redone. They just lost way too much with the change over from 4th to 5th. Add to that what the new 5th ed codexs do with unit costs and the Tau codex is pretty much reduced to 1 competitive build that doesn't use most of my favorite models.

See pics of my Orks, Tau, Emperor's Children, Necrons, Space Wolves, and Dark Eldar here:

I play Tau and although I haven't played alot recently, I used to play a ton.

My record is in my sig. I even qualified for 2009 Ard Boyz Finals but couldn't go because my daughter's due date was the same week as the tournament.

The more recent games I have played have all been wins. But I haven't faced off against BA or SW. My friend is jumping into GK the minute they are out, so I'll face a newer codex then I guess.
