Well, Adepticon is almost upon us---and we're getting ready to pack things up and head out. Decided we would post a few shots of our team table before the con---not the final product---but only missing a few bells/whistles.

This project was completed by Mike Ashe (AshAxe on here and Fightclub) and myself.

We'll be putting up more shots on the blog following Adepticon, along with information regarding our kick off Horus Heresy Campaign. Blog info here;

We tried to be accurate to the fluff as possible during the Siege----so we have all the Primarchs present with their action/placement on the table representing where they were during the Siege. Full lit underground with the Big E/Malcador/Custodes plotting---full basement for vehicles, etc.

However I think the area is too clean. Surely there would have been more wreaks, more dead bodies, some scorched earth.

Very cool. Of course, no model of the Siege of Terra can accurately convey the over-the-top scale of the Siege in background, but you did a good job representing it in model form.

Friggin' excellent work, a few more craters and torn up streets/pavements would've been the icing on this wonderful desert for me.

Any chance of a close of some of the other stuff, especially those funky looking maggot riders!

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I was going to multi-quote---but I'll just try to reply all in one here;

RE: Close ups----we will be providing close ups post Adepticon of each unit---and doing army profiles for each. It's part of our Horus Heresy kick off campaign----which will feature all the major loyalist/traitor chapters in historic battles---along with some Xenos. I do have a close up of one of the maggot riders;

RE: Torn up battlefield----we made a conscious decision early in the project to try and balance game play v. diorama. You might not have noticed on first pass----but the wall breach is actually modular so we can put an intact wall---then have the models interact with the terrain during the game. Thus, we tried to minimize unalterable terrain deficits on the board---and will just load appropriate modular pieces as we play/go. We wanted to be able to play the Siege of Terra as well as model it---so we tried to make it as modular as possible.

RE: Money/time invested----this was split over two team members Mike Ash (AshAxe on Fightclub/Dakka) and myself. Unfortunately, we're fluff bunnies---so when we originally started talking about the project all of the "Wouldn't it be cool if..."s turned into realizations. It didn't feel right to have Dorn without Angron, Sang without the Lord of Thirsters, Traitor Titan without Loyalist, etc----so we just nibbled away a bit at a time. We can't wait to play on it!

Yeah...we wanted to form another team for the heretics---but couldn't find another 4 guys. It would have been pretty cool though~~

No Adepticon this year!? Hopefully we'll catch you next year.
