Broke open the piggy bank and went to the FLGS to pick up: 6 razorbacks, 3 dreads, 6 strike squads, coteaz, draigo, and 3 terminator squads. Happy next several birthdays to me!

I want to be able to experiment with various builds. The shop owner was disappointed I didn't take two dreadknights and two stormravens.

Strike squads with cannon = 110 pts
termie squads with cannon = 225
Dreads with 2 auto cannons + ammo = 135
HB back + ammo = 50

300 for transports
405 for dreads
660 for strikes
675 for termies

Without HQs that is 2040, but that is assuming 9 troop choices. OBV he probably isn't running all the same time, but it is nice having the option to switch in termies, paladins, purifiers ect. Its actually a really good purchase for making 1750-2000 pt lists with options for changing it up a bit. Other than Draigo, everything will be use quite frequently.

I think I will use this shopping list as the basis for what I recommend for people wanting to start GKs. That and 3 pairs of autocannon arms

Exactly, I want a few 1750 lists. I forgot, there's a terminator librarian in there as well Draigo is my generic grand master. Where do I get the autocannon arms? Forgeworld? Anywhere else? I'm also magnifying a few of the purifiers/strike squads/interceptors so I can experiment with weapon loads.

Well, the voting is done it seems and Mat was elected supreme writer of Codices.

Thus proving my point that Rules and models>Fluff. Honestly, I've never seen a GW release weekend sell out as fast as GKs did.

I will admit, I caved, but not THAT much(I only got as much as I did due to an error on GeeDubbs part).

The FW arms will always look better, IMO.
