So, Dark Angels mini expansion. I must say I am awfully surprised they went with the green guys.

Well they are fairly Codex IIRC, mostly they have different looks and not special units (though they use unconventional deployment). So they could create a visual only packet that could work on top of the current gameplay.

I mean, they could have created space wolves, black templars, blood angels or whatever. Either they wouldn't be much different from the norm visually (ultrasmurfs, blood angels...) or they would have characteristic units that couldn't be represented in game.

Personally I don't like their looks too much but since it's coming free to me as a CE buyer I'm not going to complain Though if it's 7.5$ for a graphic only addon then I guess not many will buy it.

I'll bet price will be dropped. Looking for more packs in the future for sure.

If they're going to just be Color changes, I'm not interested. I'm a little disappointed that the games were all the same, just with different units.

Don't get me wrong, I dig running around with a dozen Executioners, but a little more mission variety would have been nice.

Uhm... you have looked at the screenshots, right? THey aren't just color changes. They're texture and model changes. The DA have the robes added in with their own texture, and new decorations.

Well... DoW is mainly a multiplayer game in truth. Sure the single player campaign is fun, but if you were to play only that I admit it'd be a shallow game.

I'm not that good at RTSs so I usually die spectacularly in online matches, but it's normally more fun than playing against the computer. AND, The Last Stand mode is simply great for the RTS challenged like me Fast, fun and challenging.

Dow2 ret was great fun, the rest..the others just..were lacking.

it's a DLC, it won't be something huge like a new race with new campaign, that is a near new expansion material to me

Brining in a new race requires a ton of work, don't expect them to be releasing entire factions as DLC this fast.

Because it's a completely optional texture/model pack? There is literally no change to the game, just an alternate option for people who like this particular flavor of Marine. Hardly "failing it up" by your words. I'm not particularly interested, but if they did a Steel Legion mod I'd send them my e-money in a heartbeat.

They're basically testing the waters to see if people want this kind of DLC content. Dark Angels were the easiest major chapter to do.

New races would be for expansions. The scope of a new race is far, far too big for simple DLC.

Indeed, a new faction would require tons of new animations, new models, new textures, new special effects, megatons of new voice work, rebalancing of the game, etc.

Although DKoK or Steel Legion need to have a few voice bits redone, because you don't want them referring to themselves as cadians.

Heh, yes. But then you can't really play templars or wolves in DoW2 anyway.

I would like it if they realesed a DLC for the Last Stand. A new map would be cool but I'm liking the new DA DLC. Looks quite good.

Now I just wish they'd get to work on adding in a new character for TLS for every faction. Kommando, Inquisitor, and Ravener would be a good trio to start with, adding a stealth-based character, a controller/debuffer type character, and a fast moving ranged attacker, all with potential for unique wargear given their status as orks, inquisition, and tyranids respectively.

An Ork Mek with Teleporter armour and Big Shooter is a fast ranged attacker. Through more characters would be good even more variety.

I still play DOW dark crusade because 2 doesn't have the race variety I want :(

DC is still probably one of the best DOW Games available, especially if you have Firestorm over Krounus an amazing Mod. It gives every race new units and changes the graphics and game play to an amazing level. Makes it like the actual table top game. Unlike the other DOW’s it’s story is not crap and stupid.

It's just lame. It's not worth the money to anyone but a hardcore DA fan.

Yeah, steel legion would have been good, right? Because legionnaires look significantly different than cadians, this is just a re-skin.

No, it's not just a reskin. Dark Angels do actually look significantly different from normal marines, due to the addition of their robes, their special iconography, etc.

lol, Dark Crusade's "story" is practically nonexistent.

The "story" in DoW2: Chaos Rising has been, in my opinion, BY A FAR margin, the best out of all of them.

DC didn't really have a story, it was a battle-map to play a campaign on. It was Risk with 40k

I like Nailbrain's beamy deffgun.
Now if only that replaced tabletop's KMB.....

I'm not a huge DA fan but it's great the game is getting some DLC love and not just left to rot.
