So... if a Culexus is standing next to 10 GKs does he get 12 shots?

Or just 1 extra shot per squad?

+1 attack for each psyker (friendly or hostile) within his range, not each unit with psykers, so +10 attacks for a 10 man grey knight squad

+1 for each unit, imho. BoP says to count a unit of GK as a single psyker.

each GK unit with Brotherhood of Psykers is a single psyker.

everything else would be 1 psyker(GK vehicles arn't psykers as they lack the Psyker special rule and only count as psykers in certain instances)

On further inspection, yeah, the unit's one psyker. I was still in the mindset of having a psyker battle squad chilling around one to boost the speculum

Psyker henchmen would work as they each have the Psyker rule.

So does that mean that the psyker henchmen don't give +1 shots each to the culexus?

They are only ever psykers when they cast their power, so it wouldnt have any effect.

Remember that NO assassins are ICs, so you can only stick 1 in a SR with NOONE else.

Arguing that Psyker henchmen are not psykers smacks of pedantism. You call them Psykers to refer to them.

I understand their rules perfectly, I'm just saying that it's ethically wrong to say they aren't Psykers.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

actually they are still effected.

the Animus doesn't say this with the Psyker special rule, just Psykers.

Psykers can refer to both models with the Psyker rule and models that have the name "Psykers"

GT - not true. Only those with the "Daemon" special rule are affected by the PE: Daemons rule.

Same in this case. There is a "psyker" rule which defines who is, and isnt, a psyker. The Psyker henchmen lack this rule, which incidentally makes them incapable of using any psychic power.

Pg 21 - Brotherhood of Psykers - "The unit counts as a single psyker..." So 1 unit is 1 psyker.

Units with Psyker in Special Rules: (all other infantry which are GK have Brotherhood)
Grand Master
Brother-Captain
Librarian
Champion
Techmarine
Nemesis Dreadknight
Draigo
Mordrak
Stern
Crowe
Thawn
Coteaz

Pg 21 - Psychic Pilot - "A vehicle with this special rule is treated as being a psyker (Mastery level 1) and leadership 10 for the purposes of Psychic tests and psychic hoods."
I read this to count them as psykers period because they and leadership portion must be specified for the two situation listed since vehicles have no leadership.

Psychic Pilots:
Rhino
Razorback
Dreadnought (Normal and Venerable)
Land Raider
Stormraven

The Inquistor Psyker is the one with speculation now. So pg 50 of the corebook states "Psykers can use one psychic power per player turn. To use a psychic power successfully the psyker must pass a psychic test..."

This suggests that to use a psychic power, one is a psyker. To further support a Psyker (big P) is a psyker (little p) look at the GK codex page 51 at the italicized text for Psychic Barrage. "All psykers in the same unit are treated as a single psyker for the purposes of psychic tests..."

All in all, if someone wants to argue a Psyker (unit title) can't use a psychic power; is just trying to be a D-Bag. It is perfectly clear that this is a typo and should not be considered as such.

they really should hire someone to proof read their codexs.

I would be happy to do it for 5,000 bucks a year and i wouldn't ask for any benifits either(well, maybe papercut insurance and a free codex)

When the article on Inquisitors and henchmen was first posted, it suggested taking 5 Gun Servitors in a Chimera to shoot out safely. Now it says 3. I guess someone told them that they are limited to 3 per unit.

Basically GW has no idea what they are talking about.

This Codex really, really makes me feel old and tired. Background stories that are...eccentric and
the usual package of weird rules.

Is it really too much to ask that just once they would actually proof read and play test their

This is a continuation of my impression that GW describes rules, not defines them. It's like you're getting a narrative of how things work instead of detailed explanations. Usually, I'm a rules-lawyer type, but I just can't justify it with 40k anymore. Yeah, I know the rules and find the "right" answer if there is one. But there are just too many stupid holes.

Count each Psyker (big P) as a psyker (little P), because they are and it's obvious they are. Pretty powerful for the assassin? Yeah. It's also mind-numbing to try and lawer it the other way.
