Hello,

Today I finished my first Grey Knight Terminator. I painted it as a prize for our TBB Competition and I wanted to test some metallics because I made a long brake from them. So its up to you to say me if he looks ok or not .

So tel me what do you think about him ??

Now I'm working on 5 man squad o GK Paladins and this time I will paint them in NMM so I will post some progress in time. Now they have bases and I painted them black and then white so I will know the the shadows should be.

I don't want to be Johnny Raincloud or anything, but Thunder Hammers don't have an active energy field, they activate and release a quick burst upon impact. Just sayin'. Rule of cool still takes predecence though, and this is cool!

Really? I'd be interested to hear the source on that. I've always seen them as powered.

Also the terminators look great. Are you going to run them as paladins?

I made those bases myself. I used miliput some small rocks, normal sand and some pieces of metal. If you want I can make a tutorial of how to make such bases when I will be painting Kaldor Draigo.

No problem mate. I can take all forms of criticism. I wanted a nice effect on the hammer and because of that I made it empowered and I'm glad you like it.

ph34r wrote:Also the terminators look great. Are you going to run them as paladins?

I wont play with Grey Knights because two of my friends started playing them and 3 such armies would be boring hehe. I’m a Eldar fan and I have a Eldar and Dark Eldar army so that’s all I need. As for those Terminators I love the new models and I wanted to paint them. I think I will sell them because of the new Dark Eldar Wave that is coming but I will have much fun painting them hehe. I have read the GK Codex and I think paladins are supper cool and especially with a Librarian leading them (with Quickening, Might of titan and Sanctuary powers of course), they are very high on points but Its a hammer unit and can manage in all situations. The only problem is the point cost and in a elite army you got to have some body count so I would see a place for them in armies of 1500 points or more.

There is much work to do and this project will be a long one.
Yesterday I made a test and painted a head in NMM.

Today I started to paint some NMM Armour. I didn't have to much time to finish this one but tomorrow I'l try to finish his armour and I will start a next paladin.

After finishing the whole armour I will add white in some places to make more contrast and direct the light.

So tell me what do you think about this ??

Nope. I use Acrylic paints for my wet blending and glazing. I haven tried Oil paints but I will some day because I heard that their colors are stronger and its easier to wet blend with them.

It looks nice but personally I am not a fan of the whole NMM thing as I think it takes more talent to do true metals then none metals. Your first one was amazing I think you should stick with that style.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Hi,

It took me a while to paint somthing but here you have some progres on my terminators.

There are some things that need fixing on golden NMM but I will correct them tomorrow.

Currently I'm painting the golden NMM on the last three terminators and when I finish I will post a Squad photo. I have much work to do on those miniatures but I hope to finish them as fast as I can and with Crysis 2 finished I can paint and nothing distracts me hehe.

Empchild - I like painting NMM because when you master it you can paint good true metallic and I think that NMM and true Metallic are very difficult. Some people like NMM some dont but I like both styles.

He looks good, the steel parts look like matted metal, which suits these figures well.

Are you going to add red as third color to these as well?

Hi,

I have been working on those models for some time but I hope to finish them soon. Here you can see what progress I have made from my last post.

Now I need to paint some inscriptions on scrolls an books, finish the apothecary's gauntlet, paint some freehands on shoulder pads and on Justicars scarf and I need to paint the banner. So as zou can see there is still much to do.

I hope they look god

P.S. If you have some good names for those marines just post them and maybe I will use them .

Hi,

Thanks for the positive feedback. I have worked on those terminators a little and I managed to finish 4 of them. I need to paint the banner for the last terminator so maybe this weekend I will have some time to do that.

Today there was better light on ma balcony so the photos are brighter. I will post more photos when the last terminator will be painted.

I intend to sell them in ebay so maybe someone will play with them and have some fun.

Yep, codex SM, SW etc etc. It´s old news that hammers release energy only at impact (concentrated rather then weaker but continuous).

Hi,

It has been some time that I posted some progress with my painting. I finished this model but It was a difficult task. My conception for this model has changed few times during the painting process and it was difficult to choose the right colors for some elements on him. I hope I succeeded with this task and he looks ok.

I wanted him to look different and that the colors I used will be a mix of some Chaos Gods colors. So what do you think ??

Impressive stuff RED. I have a question on your gradients... On your banner bearing grey knight, the direction of the gradient (i.e. light on top, dark on top or side-to-side) doesn't seem random... but I can't identify a clear pattern either. How do you determine what direction the gradient will go on each piece of detail?

Good question . All of this depends on the shape of this banner. I wanted to direct the light that its coming from above the model so the light is on top and the shadows on bottom but the standard isn’t flat and some parts must be darker so you can take this as a rule (light on top and shadows on bottom) but sometimes you must make exceptions.

I hope my bad English wasn’t to much for you .

If you have more questions just ask.
