Recently an in n out burger opened in my city, and I am not kidding every day people are lining on a 5-7 hour line.

No food is worth waiting 5-7 hours on, (unless it was a Home cooked meal prepared by Christina Hendricks).

Crazy people eat at In N Out Burger.

BTW, doesn't In N Out sort of imply a minimal amount of time? When I have heard the phrase used, it is usually for people who are going into a store for a Mt. Dew or something quick.

Also, I just looked at their food, looks about like Five Guys and they only take about 20 minutes.

novelty factor.

It won't be that long of a wait in 2-3 months

2-3 months seems like a long time for a burger...

In N Out is one of those places that regional transplants always cite as something they miss, and there are a lot of California expats in Texas.

I imagine something similar would happen if a Pizzeria Due, or Lou Malnati's opened in Arizona.

There are four or five In & Outs within an 10 mile radius of where I live and every single one of them has a line of cars 4-6 deep nearly every time I drive by. Understand that those aren't just during peak eating hours either, but early afternoon or late at night you will find a line of cars snaking out onto the street waiting to place their orders. Granted that is not a 7 hour wait, but these burger stands are well established in their respective neighborhoods and still manage to draw a hefty and continuous crowd for the hours within which they operate.

So, given the reasons dogma cited above and the fact that there is only one restaurant in Frisco, Texas, I can understand why there are mobs outside waiting for hours. No doubt those lines will die down to a degree but I'd bet money that even after the hysteria wears off there are still 20-30 minutes waits in store for folks at that location on any given day. That is how In & Out works. Good, cheap food, that you burn $4 in gas waiting for.

To be honest, while In N Out is good, I've never been a huge fan. I prefer White Castle.

That probably would make for an interesting behavioral study.

Local born Californian, and yeah it is a regional thing. I'd bet every Californian, and every one of those Californian's friends is flocking to that In N Out. I do like IN N Out, but to be honest it's more nostalgia than anything else....I actually prefer Five Guys as far as fast food burgers go, but In N OUt isn't half bad.

I moved to Texas a while back from CA, and man I missed In n Out so much. When I it opened at Frisco I was super happy, but those lines were crazy long. If I waited two plus years for a In n Out, I can wait another month or two. Well it doesn't matter, I will be off to CA for summer Vacation so yeah.

I'm astounded by the length of the lines too.....is any sort of food worth waiting a number of hours for? Might as well go to Sonic.

I'll wait a month or two before I go to try that place out, folks are far too fanatical about that joint.

It's good food, and a lot of Californians consider it one of those quintessential Californian things, so there's a pretty damn big nostalgia filter tied to it. I know I want to eat In N OUt whenver I come home, so yeah.

That being said, there is food that's worth sitting down for a couple hours for. Most things served in a Michelin star restaurant are going to be worth a wait.

The best burgers in the world come from Hardee's, and that's that. There's one right across the street from my FLGS, and they are no second home. In-n-out sounds like some sort of lame sexual innuendo humor.

Hmm, we have a Krispy Kreme just a mile or so down the road from where I live...didn't know they were scarce.

As for In N Out burger,I haven't eaten there since I lived in California ,and that was twenty odd years Ago, do recall they were very crowded when we went.
Apparently they don't operate East of the Mississippi, which is a bit of a shame as I did enjoy their food quite a bit.

I'm far too arrogant to be afraid.

Also, Hardee's/Carl's Jr. is gross.
