If you have had a reply then if you can be bothered post just the reply, posting entire emails and replies with be annoyin lol.
Well after the utter crap GW have shoveled us over the years i am throug with GW products, so i decided to voice what i thought to them about there insane price rises and there lack of customer service, and just to prove my point i got this reply.
"Thank you for your email
It is Games Workshop’s policy from time to time to review our entire range to ensure they are appropriately priced, which sometimes means certain items within our product range will incur a price increase. We feel the price of Citadel Finecast fairly reflects the increased quality of these models over there metal counterparts just take a look at this month’s White Dwarf or pop into your local Games Workshop store to see for yourself. Where is the 'oh look, this thread again' image.
Maybe they should make a subforum for GW complaing so the rest of us can have dakkadakka back to normal where there are actually wargaming related threads in the news and discussion forums opposed to the same pointless regurgitated whinefests. (regardless of perceived justified whining or not)
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, does it make a sound?
If a wargamer quits GW, and no one hears him complain online, did he make an impact to GW?
Online fandoms always seem to forget they are a severe vocal minority of a customerbase. Especially in this industry where they expect turnover and actually want turnover of customers.

I'm slightly confused as to what you expected them to reply with, gloomygrim.
Did you expect their customer service line, the mouthpiece of the company, to not tout the company's overall statement?
If you wanted more--you'd have to try to go higher up the foodchain to where people can actually speak for themselves or the ideas behind them, not down low where everyone is being fed a line from the higher ups.

If that isnt related enough then I dunno what is :/. And thats the last im going to post since i havnt emailed gw, iv just chose not to buy as much from them.

If a tree falls in the forest ad no one is around, does it make a sound? yes of course it does sound doesn't cease to exist just cuz no one hears it lol.
I ask the question cuz id like to know if other people get the same BS replies from them or if they get no reply at all. Yes they are a company that probly gets hundreds of complaints and replies are for the most part going to be generic, but stil id like to know other peoples responses from them.

Yeah, being vocal is the start of how you get things done. You know how you don't get things done? Silence.
We may be the minority, but guess what? There are 20+ gamers at my store, and I am converting them to other war games over time. There are plenty of stories of people and how their stores used to have tons of 40k players, but now they all play Warmachine and Hordes.
Change may take years, but it needs to start with education and open minds.

gloomygrim, the point of the tree question is the rise another question of, "How can we know it makes a sound"? The question is a counter argument to enlightenment thinking that only what can be proven and quantified are "real" or "true". If no one is around to hear the tree it would stand to reason that it cannot be said with all certainty that it does make a sound (or even exist for that matter).
Yes all this goes against intuition that of course the tree both exists and makes a sound when it falls.

Standard issue E mail response?
All the time. Business E mails are also templated, FYI.
Takes a whole 10 seconds or so to spam send it back out as a reply to ten thousand or so E mails a day, seven days a week but only for six, 300 or so days a year, and inbetween smoke breaks, lunch, afternoon coffee break, and getting ready to go home.
Don't expect them to change, either. If they did, thier share price would take a dirt nap and the company share prices would be "DOOOOM!!!" in the markets.
Seriously, they have no interest in giving you anything but the standard issued brush off.

Is this thread about complaints regarding recent price rises etc, or complaints to GW in general? I've had reason to contact GW by phone, email and post before and only once did not receive a reply. The other times, I've found their customer service to be superb and more than willing to offer replacement products or in appropriate cases, compensation.

Or, alternatively, if you don't believe in this sort of anti-enlightenment and thus anti-intellectual hogwash, the question is all about "What is the definition of sound?" All sound is air vibration, but is all air vibration sound?

I haven't sent an email, but I did write a letter to Mark Wells (the GW CEO) that contained a pretty exhaustive list of complaints - I also offered as supporting evidence the polling data gathered from this thread: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/371587.page (76% of people who responded said they would be spending no money or less money with GW in the future if you want the short version) If (and I'm not holding my breath here) I get a response from him, I'll post it. P.S. Quantum mechanically speaking, the tree both does and does not make a sound - in fact the two possibilites co-exist until someone observes the event, at which point the probability wavefunction collapses to one of those two states. Now, of course, someone is around, which changes the nature of the original question...

This thread has clearly went some odd way rofl. The way i see it is that sound is the movment of air so when the tree falls the air around it moves producing soundwaves which still exist even tho nobody is around to recieve them.

Might I suggest another avenue?
Keep tallies from your gaming group on what you spend with another company, then do some research on the community as Chimera above did, THEN send a email. Most companies will not look at non date oriented complaints if they are strictly goods oriented such as GW. Considering how much PP is taking off, the only way the prices / services will change is if GW see's a loss of business over a several year period.
I compared my spending this year to the last several and noted financially I have saved a significant amount of money by not playing GW, not buying GW, and not paying to play at their events over a 1 year span. I went to a Rogue trader for 40K this last month for the first time. It was fun, but I am not the consumer they need as I have most of my stuff. What impacts business? When their younger gamers start WMHD and leave GW

My issue is that it does not look like an email message put together by GW corporate.
It looks like this individual wrote their own response and, at best, is just doing a copy/paste on any other inquiries that come in.
Sad.

I was NOT saying, at any point, that I disbelieved you.
INITIALLY, I was asking if it was a copy/paste, due to the grammatical errors. I was kind of hoping you'd typed the quoted email and accidentally made them yourself (typos happen... Crap, look at my post history for proof LOL).
Once I saw that it was an exact copy, my comment was towards GW doing something so half-@ssed.
It's obvious that you received the email from them. I'd have to be an idiot or and @sshole to think otherwise.
FWIW, I am neither an idiot nor an @sshole, regardless what my wife and kids say!
