Welcome to my new log. I figured it was time, considering i now have an all new hobby room to work with.

My miniatures collection includes a swathe ranging from historical 15mm to sci-fi bitz box specials. I have since reorganized, and I now have a bunch to paint, not all of which is in the first few pictures below.

If anyone watched turn 8 on Beasts of war the other night, I (my mmo name is rakathu) challenged Ronnie Renton (head of mantic games) to a game against my undead. It turns out i had a few more skelletons than I thought, so i have some painting to do.

This log will cover that, and all my painting, but I definatly need encouragment seeing as how much I can procrastinate.

In true random style, and being totally nothing like any of the WIP miniatures pictured above, i give you an Evil dwarf.

Some more progress! 3 Skeletons painted today, and when I was out I scored another model for my wraith-host and enough samurai bow horsemen to complete my unit to 5 men total.

A liche wielding fell sorcery (and of course a bubbling vial of nastiness) has joined my skelleton's!

I just wanted to say that i will be out of the house for a few days, but I will still be painting as i managed to bring my painting equipment and some models.

So, building the 60 models i have to build to add to the 19 i a;ready have built to make for a total of 79 figs to paint for my game against ronnie. Add to that basing a bunch more....long days ahead.

1. When is this battle you have? How long do you have to bust out these Skeletons.

2. I super hate you for having an entire room to dedicate to modelling. All I have is a desk in my living room to do everything on. Suppose I should really complain as it used to be a small coffee table. o_O

1. saturday, the 6th of august, at around 4 pm at Gencon. I'm going on a roadtrip (that will end with my attendance at Gencon) though so i have to get everything busted out in about a week.

Vlog 3 is up. Pictures tongiht, and i'm halfway through 10 zombies already from the time of taking the video (an hour ago)

RAAAAGH! Mummies done. 30 models in around 2 nights work. with a little procrastination besides. The ones that were just painted are on the grey movement tray. I arranged them to show what my horde will sort-of look like. The horde itself will be getting a 60 man wooden (see the tray on the left) movement tray asap.

Are they Mantic? How is that to play?

I like some of the models not sure about a couple though.

Most of my undead army pictured in this thread is Mantic. If you need reviews or have questions about the models, the company, or the Fan-community, please don't hesitate to PM me.

Kings of war, Mantics fantasy game is quite fun to play. Fast enough to be engaging, and simple enough to where it is deceptive how deep the tactics can play out. In warhammer, most tactics revolve around your army list and unit combo's. In KoW your decisions in battle have tactical consequences, etc. All in all it is a good game.

Thanks for the compliment. The models used as Ghost knights are not Mantic, however if Mantic do release armored human footsoldiers some will be included.

As far as Mythos goes, Mantic started with KoW without having a base fantasy setting that they made up for thier miniatures. As such, Mantic stated they would fill in approxamitly 10% of the background and let the players do the rest, so as to provide as much artistic freedom as possible.

I embraced this ideal and wrote 30 pages of background plus. The section you see on the website is an extra, 6 page (in word) piece I wrote then printed and sent in to mantic on parchment like paper. The hard copy I sent to Mantic is apparently in one of thier display cabinets, along with a mummy I sent with it.

All you really need to know to get the gist of my document is that Mhorgoth is the "big bad arch necromancer" or the "nagash" of kings of war.

My gencon/Ronnie battle army is complete!

More background pieces expanding the ongoing "crusade" in the area of mantic introduced by my first piece on the mantic site in the fanfiction section.

Also, my first game of KoW was against Ronnie Renton and LLew this day, august 6th 2011, and we called it a gentlemanly tie. notes include an especially resilent unit of revenant cavalry (who in model form have nothing but shields and leather helmets)
