To be fair, I immediately posted three or four polls right after joining, it just happens, honest! It was suggested to me to make a poll of which of my polls was the best, but there was no need, it was obviously evident from the number of votes!

Personally, I just disregard half of the threads in ANY of the forums anyway. I haven't found it to be too terrible recently, at least as far as polls go. I think a poll is just a nice way of giving an 'at-a-glance' way of checking on a thread you posted to gather up opinions. And since that's what half of the threads in this (and almost any other) section are for anyway, I don't really see harm in it.

Were you just being tongue-in-cheek Kilkrazy? Did you have a problem with the number of polls? Or were you just making an observation? I'm not trying to be snarky, I just don't usually see you complaining about stuff. Normally you're on the side of reason and moderation. I figure if you've got a problem with something there's a good reason.

I dont think polls are that bad, you get real knowledge of what everybody on dakkadakka thinks. I like them, and having a look, ive only seen a few, not too many in the 40k general descussiion....

Personally they really annoy me; IMHO they don't really add much or promote DISCUSSION, but instead just someone stating their preference. For example, the Most Capable Chapter Master? would actually promote discussion and debate, whereas Your Favourite Chapter Master? Would just involve a single post of someone's name and little more IMHO.

I know I for one have reported these poll threads as banal and I spend less and less time on 40K discussion these days.
