I was wondering, just out of curiosity, how many people on dakka like my little pony: friendship is magic? I'm considering watching it, and am curious about the appeal to older audiences.

There's 2 kinds of people with regards to the show:
People who think it's the greatest thing ever and people who think the first group are crazy.

Oh, so, it's like the touhou project then?
From what I've seen, I doubt anyone's going to rant.

from what i think is still going on.
adventure time/pretty good, fights could be better. but for a 15-30 minute show they do a decent story.
johnny test/most annying thing on earth.if i ever meet one of the creators,im going to kick his shin alot.
regular how/ ok. very, very strange though.dont like its repetitive parts.
as for past shows...
power puff girls/to girly,dont like.
samurai jack/ decent, liked the whole black blood thing. everyone's a robot cause it has to be for kids.
dexter/meh. to much science for the age it was meant for.other than that pretty good.
fosters home/ kinda liked, but never loved it. it would be cool if it worked that way though...

I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.
I loved Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, so I won't say that I dislike this show, I just leave it to be watched by my seven and four year old daughters.

Samurai Jack watched MLP. The photo is what happened.
Spoiler:
I didn't want to anger the pony fans out there, so I put the violent photo in a spoiler. VERY NSFW.

It's not a bad show; it's reminiscent of the times where you actually had to understand what was happening in the world to understand it (one episode drops three OLD movie references, like Indiana Jones, in ten seconds. Three references, ten seconds.....) Unlike most newer cartoons that are mostly fart jokes (I know there were older ones that relied on the same).
Basically, I watch it because it reminds me of the older times, if it wasn't so damn clever I wouldn't bother with it.
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.
